Weathering our dreams

Life, for me, has been... well it's little wonder I believe in dreams

I've been having problems all day which have helped me get this edition out early

The Promise of a Dream (poem)

It’s waiting there beside that lonely road
His reason for a new and brighter day
The promise of a dream that never showed
-
Who knows the fabric that this one was sewed
Whose welcome smile was never far away
It’s waiting there beside that lonely road
-
Who knows the hopes and Joys with which he strode
Whose welcome warmth oft set soft fears astray
The promise of a dream that never showed
-
When he appeared how calm the wind then flowed
To tell Joy’s tears to wash away dismay
It’s waiting there beside that lonely road
-
Yet not a soul dared secret there was stowed
Blind eyes without a single word to say,
The promise of a dream that never showed
-
Now where is he to whom so much was owed
Pray what will chase the clouds away today
It’s waiting there beside that lonely road
The promise of a dream that never showed

This song seems to go well with this poem: The Love Theme from The Blade Runner by Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou (Vangelis)

Now

Do you  know Mike Sobel or the rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur danced ballet in high school and ended up portraying the Mouse King in a production of The Nutcracker? Well, Mike is a weatherman in Edmonton, Canada. He was showing off a dog named Ripple from the Edmonton Humane Society when this happened. The amazing thing was, Mike managed to complete his report, the video is going viral, and Ripple... well dream.
Enjoy the "weather" with "Weatherman vs Dog News Blooper"

One month of magic and we did it together

I am still learning about this whole thing

If this has gotten better, it was through your kind support. Thank you

Her Loving Arms (poem)

Confusion rife
Streets filled with strife
Harsh pains of life
Scars of a knife
Her loving arms
Still hold me tight
-
A loss of job
All hopes to rob
Extents to lob
My silence mob
Yet in her arms
World is alright
-
Money past spent
Can’t pay life’s rent
Lasting repent
-
Gone are the dreams
Those youthful themes
Dried out old streams
-
Lost without hope
Darkness to scope
Mad mire to mope
But then her arms
Save me from plight
-
Mornings’ refrain
Every new strain
Saneness maintain
-
Bleakness in view
Warnings renew
Lies turning true
-
And still she’s there
Her love to share
All else laid bare
Within her arms
Glorious sight
-
Heartless and cold
Fates may unfold
Problems untold
To this I hold
Her loving arms
Still hold me tight

Here is a song to tie in the poem and the theme of this edition: Seal's rendition of "Stand By Me"

An eighteenth-century German named Matthew Birchinger, known as "the little man of Nuremberg," played four musical instruments including the bagpipes, was an expert calligrapher, and was the most famous stage magician of his day. He performed tricks with the cup and balls that have never been explained. Yet Birchinger had no hands, legs, or thighs, and was less than 29 inches tall. Where that came from... I got to stop drinking so much soda.
I used to be an amateur magician (a real amateur). I always loved card tricks the best (even the simple ones). So when I came across this video, I was taken in. These are manipulators from Singapore. Their skills with cards is magic. More information about them and how to do cardistry yourself is at the bottom of the YouTube video.
For now, enjoy "Captivating Cardistry Wizards - Singapore"

Love, Love, Love but wait

This edition is packed with love and I blame it on the viral video

But if you put this aside you will miss what more made the video go viral

Return To You (poem)

What can I return to you
For all which you have given me
Much more than life a fantasy
Each breath another memory
The reason I hold for each day
-
Light of everything I view
Once dreams which I held inside me
Are blossoming Joyful and free
Still wondering how could this be
That all lesser needs went away
-
Pathway for all which I do
The treasure of seasons to me
Your smile whispers my destiny
To stay by your side happily
And marvel as stars have their play
-
What can I return to you
If only this moment I knew
Would all my desires then be through
Or would longings begin anew
What splendors then would ensue
-
What heart’s return are you due
Don’t say that it was only me
Who wanders your love aimlessly
Unsure if acts pay proper fee
For ever with always to stay

To raise to mood up a little higher here's Andrea Bocelli singing "Mille Lune Mille Onde"

Still here

Did you know when two lovers gaze into each others’ eyes, their heart rates sometimes synchronize? In this Channel N°5 film we follow an intriguing story line, with Lo-Fang performing his version of  "You're The One That I Want". The story is very full and makes one wonder what is going on and where is this all leading. In the film Channel N°5 is hardly mentioned.... or is it? If you watch this film more than once you will notice the product, company and product line popping up and hidden in some interesting places. It's kind of a Channel N°5 version of "Where's Waldo".
See what I mean as you enjoy "CHANEL N°5: The One That I Want - The Film"

Shopping is no joke

Or is it

Jokesters this edition of our blog has you in mind

Noise At The Front Door (limerick)

From my front door I heard a shout
I wondered what it was about
Commotion it set
So filled me with fret
That I had to let girlfriend out

On Sale Now (limerick)

One wonders what went through his head
How could he have been so mislead
A book that will train
A gal to abstain
If he had a brain well it fled

You may already know the YKK on your zipper stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikigaisha. But what would you do if while you were shopping the floor disappeared? In this late blooming viral video, North Face Of Korea ad, shoppers are persuaded to use the rock climbing handles on the walls. After climbing the walls (ha-ha), shoppers were prompted to jump and grab a North Face coat hanging in the air. 2,700,000 viewer were attracted to this video recently. (Hit the ‘cc’ button at the bottom right of the video for translation.)

From a moment of love to oorah

You have till the viral video to figure that out

In the meantime...

Lovers’ Afternoon (Poem)

When stardust mixes mid the moon
When kisses cast make lovers swoon
When hearts unite to form a tune
Then is a lovers’ afternoon
-
When words don’t have a thing to say
When even dreams seem far away
When eyes are havens souls there stray
Then it becomes a love’s mid-day
-
Then passions rise beyond the moon
Then all they knew now far away
Then whispered winds cause minds to stray
When love is in its afternoon
-
Then even reason dare not say
Then there again what made them swoon
Then heavens hear a timeless tune
When lovers bask amid mid-day
-
When will I kiss love’s afternoon
When will you teach my heart your tune
When in your arms I’m bound to swoon
Then stardust mixes mid the moon

Here is a video about the "moon" I hope you will enjoy; Gary B "The Moon"

Time is up

Oorah has nothing to do with the first automobile race ever seen in the United States being held in Chicago in 1895. The track ran from Chicago to Evanston, Illinois. The winner was J. Frank Duryea, whose average speed was 71/2 miles per hour.
I was never a Marine. But I had the honor of serving them for 4 years when I successfully brought the Toys For Tots program to the masonic fraternity of the San Francisco Bay Area and our communities. When I came across this video I was a bit prejudice (in a positive way). It is of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band challenging the band of Republic of Korea in a drum battle. (I wonder who is going to win.) AND HOW!
Watch and be as impressed as I always was serving them: "Drum Battle: III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) Band vs. Republic of Korea (ROK) Army Band"

Take-a tanka adventure to-a something to dry your eyes

Pretty cleaver, if I say so myself

Let' see how this edition fares out

Familiar Stranger (tanka)

Patiently waiting
In the silence of his time
When all else rested
Returns familiar stranger
From the mirror of his soul

The Hat (tanka)

He took off his hat
This stranger who decided
That he’d stay awhile
And when his work was finished
They noticed the hat was gone

Ocean Of Memories (tanka)

Each moment of time
Ticking by to take its place
As we drift along
Grasping at what will become
An ocean of memories

For no particular reason except to entertain you here's: Gnarls Barkley "Going On"

Now

If you don't have something to wipe your eyes, run off and get something and remember it is illegal to hunt camels in the state of Arizona.
Marriage proposal videos are "a dime a dozen." I came across this one and watched it 3 times. It is very impressive. No wonder it is going viral. Bret's (the young man) family and friends flew across the country to help him propose. It was put together by a new TV show - Marry Me.
Now let me share a story. I gave my wife a ruby engagement ring, instead of diamond. It represented my heart. She was disappointed not to get a diamond. She was until all her friends got jealous over her ring. Now she loves to show off my heart.
Many happy dreams Jovan and Bret

Lovers open endless possibilities an then a laugh

Here is mix of rhymes and ideas

As you can tell, I am toying with the title

Refreshing The Fields (poem)

Stop
Calling through what use to be
Searching for some memory
Embers of a mystery
Down forgotten streets
-
Stop
Wandering forgiving mist
Following those things dismissed
Wonderings which still persist
Pictures washed ashore
-
We are not there anymore
One more corner turned a while ago
An instant destined for the wind
Sweetness refreshing the fields
-
Stop
Gathering up the leaves of why
Which left the tree to kiss the sky
Strange how dreamer’s bodies lie
In a jealous world
-
We are not there anymore
In those footprints paved by someone else
Which showed their purpose after all
Pathway refreshing the fields
-
Stop
Calling through soft use to be
Falling on what eyes can’t see
Stalling in complacency
Of moments to regret
-
We are not there anymore
Building stairways to another door
Wishing for the dreams amid the clouds
And rains refreshing the fields
Of possibilities

As long as we are exploring possibilities, here is Mike Oldfield taking us a little further with "Let There Be Light"

Back" on earth

According to the urban dictionary "Swag" is the way in which you carry yourself. Swag is made up of your overall confidence, style, and demeanor. According to Ryan Higa (nigahiga) "S.W.G." means sweet wholesome gal. More than 30% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call.
But here for your enjoyment is Ryan Higa with his rap and viral video "S.W.G."
