A Life So Real to Naughty or Nice: Jimmy Kimmel vs kids

How all changes when one realizes a dream come true

With this edition reality changed and the warmth and laughter of a child's truth rings out

A Life So Real (poem)

A life so real a dream well spent
One wonders where the time all went
Return to stars for just one scent
Why smiles now blossom mid lament
-
A flowered field was love’s assent
A paradise it would invent
And to this cause life’s blessings lent
That every quest brought sheer content
-
Soon all around knew what Joy meant
Forgotten was all discontent
Forgotten was all need to vent
When fate would show its harsh intent
-
The mornings grant a whole new hue
So different from one it knew
When it would lend its splendor to
A life so real a dream come true

Let's have some fun. Here is a guy looking for his dream all day. At the end of of the song he finally finds her. Edward Maya "Stereo Love" feat Vika Jigulina

It has been reported about 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year. Keeping that in mind (or totally forgetting it), this time of the year Jimmy Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo dawn their elf outfits to help Santa find out who has been naughty and nice. They go over wish lists with their young guests and ask them questions. However, something goes unexpectedly different with a brother and sister pair. One has to remember who the real star of the show is as this youthful pair take over the sketch. One by one Jimmy has to field the innocent inquiries. Questions, questions, questions...
Reality? Let's give in to another world: "Naughty or Nice with Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo #2"

The Time Has Come to Beyoncé's Yours And Mine

Two retrospectives... one from a poet's dream, the other from a star

Yet if we listen closely we may find a sprinkling of ourselves

The Time Has Come (poem)

Just one more kiss to crown this dream filled day
A memory the stars will treasure so
The time has come at last for us to go
So that one moment ever can display
-
There were no words to draw the day we met
Who knew back then what fantasies would flow
The time has come at last for us to go
And let the wondrous seeds we planted set
-
The world its carpet at our feet was spread
We were enchantment others came to know
The time has come at last for us to go
For hidden isles are waiting our ascent
-
And not a tear to darken Joys we shared
Just lasting sighs as lovers’ breezes blow
The time has come at last for us to go
To be in paradise we have prepared

I thought this song was fitting: Elvis Presley "Memories"

It was believed in the Philippine jungle, the yo-yo was first used as a weapon. Recently, archaeologist into the history of the yo-yo suspect this might not be true. Meanwhile back on earth, Beyoncé shares a somber, honest message in "Yours and Mine". "When you're famous, no one looks at you as a human anymore. You become the property of the public. There's nothing real about it." To celebrate the one year anniversary of the historic release of the self-titled visual album, BEYONCÉ, the superstar this released this moving black and white video. In it, Beyoncé illustrates her thoughts on being a celebrity, feminism, motherhood and marriage, with some insight into her childhood.
Watch, enjoy and reflect. "Yours And Mine"

Precious Few to Christmas Surprise Traffic Stop with Police

A love song followed by an unexpected gift

Another flow of poetry... another look at life

Precious Few (poem)

The stories which we shared
The marvels we have fared
Win some of them
Does it really matter in the long run
Sifting secrets from the golden sands
Moments of a precious few
Other lovers wished they knew
-
What darknesses we dared
What whispers well prepared
And over what
To turn another cheek and fly away
Only to return for a forgotten kiss
Moments of a precious few
Other hearts could beat so true
-
Over mysteries we cared
Over passions which were flared
Do we recall
Tangled in confused ticking of a mind
Shadows which cowered from familiar smile
Moments of a precious few
The light of hope a dream once drew
-
For all which once was aired
Forever has repaired
And once again
Befuddled love stories wander about
Warm hugs to others knowing they are there
Moments of a precious few
Which our winds now amble through

To go with this poem I've selected "Wonderland By Night" by Bert Kaempfert & His Orchestra

Did you hear there are 293 ways to make change for a dollar? Did you hear what the police did in Lowell, Michigan? The police department surprised drivers last month when they were pulled over for routine traffic stops. Instead of tickets, the unsuspecting motorists received gifts from their own Christmas lists. Officer Scot VanSolkema acted as the department's Santa, wearing a hidden camera and microphone as he chatted with drivers after he pulled them over. He asked his victims what they wanted for the holidays, while fellow officers were listening in and scrambling at a local store to rush items from the drivers' wish lists to the scene. The video was created by Rob Bliss who was inspired because of his belief in the hard work of those in law enforcement, "who often quietly go out of their way to help people in need", and to get people to remember those great officers forgotten during this rough time (referring to the recent negative incidents).
So let's enjoy the video and remember those special people who protect us, "Christmas Surprise Traffic Stop with Lowell Police"

Date With A One Track Mind to wife leaves me alone with the baby

Jokesters I haven't forgotten you

Nothing but laughs in this edition

The Tears of a Nature Lover (limerick)

Wife just wrecked their car that was new
Her husband shed tears quite a few
But wife couldn’t see
Why tears ran so free
Did tree I hit belong to you

Date With A One Track Mind (limerick)

Her cute date was really a mess
His sole thought was get in her dress
So later that night
When she said alright
It’s a little tight he’d confess

Time Heals All Wounds (limerick)

As kids he was bully to me
Still I did his taxes for free
From wrongs I would sail
As good would prevail
And federal jail was my fee

Even if you don't like classical music you might find this video fascinating (to say the least)
Dimitri Shostakovich "The Second Waltz"

One more

Believe it, China has more English speakers than the United States.
This is 3-month old Emily. She has has been left alone once again with daddy. We dads are an unusual breed. My crime was taking my baby boy, Peter, to the toy store. I bought him every toy I... I mean he ever wanted. Imagine the look on my wife's face when she came home to find us playing with a racing car set. Peter was less than year old that day. Christmas!... Peter and I were two lucky boys. Don't tell me I'm the only father who had a guilty secret with their baby. Now, this is 3-month old Emily. She has has been left alone once again with daddy.
Let's enjoy his guilty secret, "What happens when my wife leaves me alone with a baby"

Mist Of Sunset to YouTube Rewind: Turn Down for 2014

As two lovers kiss their glories become part of a past

Gazing at their sunset's uncertainty they find a warmth in the world they built

Mist Of Sunset (poem)

Now that the moments of magic have past
Stardust and moonbeams return to a song
Echoes in kisses those splendors prolong
As mist of sunset is dawning at last
-
But in our day such brilliance blessed our glow
Past limitless the paths which we would try
We were the spring which flowers blossomed by
Imaginations marveled at our show
-
Impossible to us was but a word
As we sparked life’s enchantment everywhere
The streets we danced forever know our flare
And with my all a make believe was stirred
-
You kiss me asking can a dream come true
I gaze at sunset wishing that I knew

To enhance these lovers' mood here's Giovanni Marraddi "Land of Dreams"

It is estimated that golf courses cover 4% of North America. So that explains all the golf balls in the yard.
As far as the viral video for this edition, it is YouTube's turn. 6 months ago Kai Hasson (the director) began to work with YouTube to collect 2014's memories for our enjoyment. Portal A was the main creators and performers. With this video YouTube and Portal A tried to celebrate the moments, memes, and people that made 2014. "YouTube Rewind" represents the culmination of thousands of hours of work from the top production team in the business, collaborations with hundreds of YouTube’s brightest stars, and more time spent watching YouTube videos than can be mentioned. Portal A and YouTube traveled the globe to bring this video to life. This was also done, per Portal A, to bring out YouTube's global influence. Were they successful? I was lucky to stumble on this video hours after it was posted. In 8 hours it has already crossed the 5 million view mark.
So as the sun sets on 2014, let us enjoy "YouTube Rewind: Turn Down for 2014"

River Flow to a 4 year old: Driver for a Day

As one dream dies another begins

Dream while you can and breath your life into that dream

River Flow (poem)

A dream I had so very long ago
To join the wind which helps life’s river flow
To be a reason that the flowers grow
A helping hand which hope will come to know
-
I fell in love as other people do
I got a job to see my household through
I cared for wife and children as they grew
And for this while this was that dream came true
-
But in my sleep danced thoughts of long ago
Of something that I never quite saw through
Of something lost as other somethings grew
Its truth my world right now refused to know
-
And I grew old as other people do
There’s comfort in my now so daily flow
The dancing in my sleep with time would grow
But who I had become denied it’s true
-
Sorrow’s regret a friend that I would know
As flowers danced so cold did I now grow
And as I sat and watched the river flow
A dream I had so very long ago

What could be more fitting than Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris, "Lost On The River"

Meanwhile

Adult elephants can’t jump, which brings us to 4 year old Carson. Carson loves trucks, so it was no wonder he developed an admiration for Mr. Ernie, his neighborhood's UPS driver. Mr. Ernie delivered a special formulation of milk to Carson's door three times a week and he gets to drive a truck. So it became Carson's dream to b just like Mr. Ernie. UPS found out about Carson and decided to make his dream come true, as part of the shipping company's "Your Wishes Delivered" campaign. Carson became a UPS driver for the day. If this wasn't enough, Mr. Ernie, a 25-year UPS veteran, got all choked up because his dream was to deliver a dream.
Now it is our turn to get all choked up: "Your Wishes Delivered: Driver for a Day"

Things Look Better In The Night to Calgary's Worst Driver

Take away the loudness of bright clarity and what remains

After laughing at the mysteries of a viral video we may readdress this question

Things Look Better In The Night (poem)

Things look better in the night
No distractions world less clear
Shadows falling thoughts do steer
Captured by a lonely light
-
Softer thoughts does it ignite
Sun filled embers of the past
Moments never meant to last
Things look better in the night
-
Sharpened edges seem less bright
As soft veils do cloud my mind
Echoes heard are far behind
Dark uncertain toys with sight
-
Day’s tomorrows less polite
Why do heartbeats linger on
Do they know that she is gone
Victim of some appetite
-
Things look better in the night
Memories become a tear
Haunting winds are all I hear
Faded glimpses hold me tight
-
What will spare me from this plight
Dream to carry me away
Gentler fields for mind to play
Things look better in the night

To go with this verse here's Secret Garden "Sanctuary"

For a break

Truck driving is the most dangerous occupation for accidental deaths, but YouTube's worst driver is in Calgary, Canada. It took this driver over 4 minutes to get out of this uncrowded parking lot. In the end a by-stander had to help. The video, captured on lot's surveillance camera, caused Calgary police have opened a criminal investigation to see if charges were warranted against the driver. The video has caused both amusement and outrage on the Internet as more people are being exposed to the story. It was even reported, by the Calgary Sun, that one of the investigating officers posted the video on Twitter. Instead of garnering information, upped the laughs and embarrassment. As a spokesperson with Calgary police confirmed they’ve identified the driver and the owner of the struck car, and an investigation is underway, the viral video rages on.
(The video has no sound)
Maybe after the laughter someone can unravel the mystery of "Calgary's Worst Driver"
