A Dream A Stream to Making Sydney smile SketchShe style

A stream refreshes a dream

Three dreams do their part to refresh Sydney

A Dream A Stream (free form poem)

A stream
A dream
-
It’s calling me back
To the beginnings
Fathoms unknown
-
Yet there I lie
There by its side
As it carries on
To its destined end
-
As it sings to me
A voice from way back then
Songs of remember when
I sadly say farewell
To the waves which have carried me
-
I’m sorry we must part
I’m sorry it must end this way
I’m sorry time has come at last
But we made moments
Rainbows of memories
There across the sky
-
Its waters kissed my hand
Which stretched beyond the season’s bank
To touch the face of timeless friend
In that stroke I shed a tear
A gem of the journey we shared
Bear this gift there to the ocean
Where I will be waiting for you

Don't ask me to explain. I just felt this song: Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli performing
Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto "Time To Say Good-Bye"

They're back

It is estimated approximately 4.5 million people visit the Sydney Opera House each year. This is about a quarter of Australia's total population and more than twice the number of yearly visitors to America's White House. Lana, Shae-Lee and Madison (SketchShe) are also from Sydney. In an effort to thank their beloved city, the three SketchShe dreams go out  to share a smile on their countrymen. Here is an interesting twist:  instead of performing their routine in the famous car, the threesome only use the car to change for the next scene. Remember: SketcheShe became popular at a time when many performed sketches from inside a vehicle. I wonder if the three have sparked a new trend.
We'll see. "Minions mischief...making Sydney smile SketchShe style!"

Her Loving Arms to Twisted eyewitness account of car accident

A crazy world is set right in his lover's arms

But other arms await this crazy eyewitness

Her Loving Arms (lyrical poem)

Confusion rife
Streets filled with strife
Harsh pains of life
Scars of a knife
Her loving arms
Still hold me tight
-
A loss of job
All hopes to rob
Extents to lob
My silence mob
Yet in her arms
World is alright
-
Money past spent
Can’t pay life’s rent
Lasting repent
-
Gone are the dreams
Those youthful themes
Dried out old streams
-
Lost without hope
Darkness to scope
Mad mire to mope
But then her arms
Save me from plight
-
Mornings’ refrain
Every new strain
Saneness maintain
-
Bleakness in view
Warnings renew
Lies turning true
-
And still she’s there
Her love to share
All else laid bare
Within her arms
Glorious sight
-
Heartless and cold
Fates may unfold
Problems untold
To this I hold
Her loving arms
Still hold me tight

To go with this poem I'm using: Seal "Stand By Me"

You're alright - it's the upcoming

According to latest information, 90% of New York City cabbies are recently arrived immigrants.
More news - In Jackson, Mississippi, a police officer was sent to the hospital after being involved in a crash. Reporters were fortunate to run into Courtney Barnes who saw the whole thing.
Take it away Courtney. "Courtney Barnes - Must see eyewitness description - WLBT 3 On Your Side"
(The weird gets weirder - Courtney Barnes went wildly viral, but with a twist. All her/his instant fame landed her/him in the arms of the law. Courtney was arrested by the Jackson police. It seems Courtney may be the shop lifter they are looking for, or so store surveillance cameras say.)
(Lesson - Criminals should not make viral videos.)

Pearl to Moulin Rouge and Lady Marmalade

One lover's mind dances with his pearl

While an entire fraternity let their minds drift in Lady Marmalade

Pearl (Shakespearean sonnet)

What is this swirl that has a hold of me
My mind’s a whirl as reason starts to go
A dance a twirl my heart how can this be
A special pearl just said she loves me so
-
And so I swirl in hopes to find my feet
In such a whirl I wonder what to do
I dance and twirl and barely miss a beat
My precious pearl please know I love you too
-
Into this swirl these thoughts which lovers share
This unknown whirl which challenged their delight
It danced a twirl a show that it was there
This wisdom’s pearl to keep our love in sight
-
And so we swirl to give our love a whirl
I danced this twirl for you my little pearl

(Note the repeating words, or concepts, in the middle of each quatrain. In the rhyming couplet all four words were used. Some may say, this lowers the message of the sonnet. Some may say, this is a nice example of word play. Some may say, this is an interesting insight into a lover's psyche.)

In my world, there was no dance quite like the tango. John Powell "Assassin's Tango"

From the one to the many

The oldest active American college fraternity is the Chi Phi Fraternity. founded in 1824 at Princeton University. Let's leave Princeton and the United States and fly to England and Oxford. There we will find a group of young men called Out of the Blue. Founded in 2000, this student-run A Capella group sings an "eclectic mix" of songs.  They came to international attention among pop music fans when they were the subject of a tweet by the noted musician Shakira, who complimented them for the cover they did of one of her songs in support of a charity which they support. As part of their newest project, Moulin Rouge, Out of the Blue does their tribute to frat boys everywhere, whose minds turn from studying to what else... girls!

The Dance to Johanna channeling Aretha Franklin

A couple's dance reawakens a flame in others

A 6 year old's dance awakens YouTube

The Dance (English sonnet)

Remembering when they first saw them dance
Discomfort what they saw upon that floor
More strange the sense they felt the same before
Before they all were claimed by social trance
-
Remembering their special dance once more
Discomfort was a thrill they often chance
More strange were feelings shared amid a glance
Before the youth they knew passed through that door
-
But tears it seem has taken them away
And soon the tune the band plays will be through
Remembering forever marks their doom
-
Discomfort causes all their fear to stray
More strange to feel the heartbeats they once knew
Before they danced they felt lost love in bloom

(The English sonnet format worked well with this idea. Note that each line of the first two stanzas begin with the same words. In the "conflict stanza" (the third stanza) it seems the word progression will end. But the word form reawakens.)

Back to the dance. Here's Trang and Thinh dancing to Andrea Bocelli "B├ęsame Mucho"

Next dancer

According to legend,  famed dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were not permitted to dance together in public, according to their movie contracts. What was up with that? And what's up with the unusually large number of "kid dancing" videos popping up on YouTube lately? It seems we can blame six year old Johanna of Raleigh, North Carolina. At a dance recital, Johanna performed her rendition of Aretha Franklin's ``Respect''. Her mother captured the moment and posted it on YouTube. The video went so wild, others are trying to catch Johanna's wave of success.
Prepare to enjoy the wave that is stirring the waters of viral videos, right now. "Johanna channeling Aretha Franklin!"

Imagine Me to You're Not Deep, You're Drunk

A couple in love is in a world apart

There other worlds inhabited by stranger creatures

Imagine Me (Shakespearean sonnet)

Imagine floating free without a care
Where even rules of time do not apply
A scent long forgotten calls you from high
And every answer imagined is there
-
Imagine tasting realms of pure delight
Where even dreams do rush to see your view
A scent of memories sparkling anew
And every feeling imagined is right
-
Imagine imagining what might be
The veils of heaven brushing passion’s soul
And for this moment truly being whole
And close your eyes to glimpse eternity
-
You wonder for the source to all of this
Imagine while we share another kiss

When we think of love Romeo and Juliet must come to mind. When I think of Romeo and Juliet this song comes to my mind:
Des`Ree "Kissing You"

Are you ready for another world

It is believed that the world’s oldest known recipe is for beer. I may have gotten this useless fact from these two young ladies. Excuse me if I can't recall their names. We were discussing some pretty deep stuff. I do recall they work for CollegeHumor, the Los Angeles based YouTube channel.
At first, I simply thought this video was funny. Then it turned out to be cleaver. Then, as I was putting this edition together, I began to realize an even deeper and more cleaver message.
See if you can see what I did. "You're Not Deep, You're Drunk (All-Nighter)"

Well Now I See to Real Grand Theft Auto

There's trouble on the road with these limericks

Then the crazy gets crazier

A Squirrel A Scream A Tree (limerick)

My wife’s screaming made my head whirl
The day I was chasing a squirr’l
I cried what the heck
As up tree he’d trek
And that’s how car wreck did unfurl

Well Now I See (limerick)

I couldn’t see source of the fuss
Or what made the people act thus
Their screams came alive
Please help us survive
Reported blind driver of bus

Teacher’s Last Words (limerick)

In my mind his last words are stuck
That day when by death sage was struck
A turn my life took
When whole world was shook
He turned and said look son a truck

(Remember, I write 6 rhymes in 5 lines limericks, Also no person or animal was hurt in the writing of these absurdities.)

Let's keep everything cars with: Moby Flower "Bring Sally Up"

Let's keep those hands on the wheel

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a Video Game series originally created by David Jones and Mike Dailly and released on October 1997. A far cry from Jake Watson of Corridor Digital. Corridor Digital is a Los Angeles based company. founded by YouTubers Sam Gorski, Niko Pueringer and Jake Watson, in 2011. They create short action movies. Their movie, "The Last Minecart" got over 30 million views. The team is hoping "Real GTA" will be equally successful. Just released today, many websites are betting this latest wild ride will be more successful.
This is not a Video Game! These are the real actors and stuntmen of Corridor Digital. "Real GTA"

Dance While We Can to 100 Places of Dance

Unsure of the songs of life's adventure so let's dance while can

A young man demonstrates that his dance will work in 100 different places

Dance While We Can (Shakespearean sonnet)

What will we say of a life like a song
It kisses the breeze to welcome its day
In tones to tempt flowers as it sweeps along
We’ll dance while we can an echo might say
-
It twinkles through hearts of birds in the trees
Who teach it to clouds which chance to pass by
Which write across skies such moments as these
To dance while we can comes heaven’s reply
-
The silence of night may add clarity
To tones of the past that then seem so near
And timelessness claims a sweet melody
So dance while we can while song is still here
-
What will we say of song from life’s stream
That dance that we had was only a dream

Whether just shaking my body or a Cha cha or a Waltz, there was always an extra "something special". It is hard to explain, but I found a video that touches upon it:
Andre Rieu performing Shostakovich "The Second Waltz"

Ready for more

It is rumored that ballroom dancing is gotten so popular in China that people practice at the bus stops. Now, I'm not sure if Matt Bray, of ProectOneLife, dances at bus stops or is even Chinese. As far as I know he lives in Naperville, Illinois. ProjectOneLife has been doing amazingly well, since its introduction in April of 2014. It is no wonder Matt is dancing.
At first, I thought this was all a computer trick. Then, as the video's charm drew me in, I started to notice there was more than a simple editing of backgrounds and costumes. Matt had successfully blended his moves with the 100 changes.
Good job, Matt. May the dance of life grant you many more successes. "100 Places of Dance"
