Disturbing Tears to Pizza Farm

Disturbing tears cover up any rays of hope

Disturbing food facts may not be true but they will make us laugh

Disturbing Tears (grounded poem)

I asked my tears what did they know
About a love of long ago
When memories once more ignite
Yet no response disturbed their flow
-
For one more day of heartaches so
Though lasting pain I didn’t know
The dead of sleep did soul invite
Those many endless times ago
-
There was a season in a flow
Where fantasies sparked lovers so
These rulers of the world’s delight
Such hidden Joys they came to know
-
But moment slip to whys ago
Confusion’s accusations flow
Then mystic wind steals candlelight
Of ever make this meaning so
-
Here in a dark I do not know
I wonder in those dreams ago
And what went wrong in all that right
Disturbing tears amid their flow

(In this poem there are two rhymes at work. One represents the tears. The other, the light of hope. Though the tears outnumber hope, it is up to the reader to imagine the final outcome. - I wish I could tell you that Arlene's and my love nest was storm free. But at least once a month, a raging storm would upset perfection. There were no blows, just yelling. I once hit Arlene, and I felt so bad I never raised a hand to her again. It was a tear that first gave birth to my love for her. So, it should't surprise anyone that Arlene's tears would melt my heart. Knowing what the final outcome is going to be, one would wonder why it took me so long to learn. Even now, I don't know. Perhaps I was a stupid guy, or perhaps it was the price of legends.)

Can we come up with something romantic with a touch of sadness?
Sad Fantasy "La Media Luna"

From tears to nutrition - sounds logical

Getting adequate protein, vitamins, and minerals from food can keep you from taking sick days and missing out on daily lessons and fun. But the challenge is "adequate" seems to constantly changing. Here is Nick Offerman, to throw his at into the healthy food arena. Nick is an actor, writer, humorist and carpenter, so he knows all about nutrition. Put aside the laughing for a moment. Funny or Die has produced this satirical video in partnership with the American Heart Association in answer to the ongoing debate in Congress on healthy school meals.
So let's season our laughter with the seriousness of tomorrow's nutrition."Pizza Farm with Nick Offerman"

A Gentle Hand to Hand Bomb

There is a comforting hand in times of trouble

There is a troubling hand in times of comfort

A Gentle Hand (repeating poem)

In moments fraught with toil and stress
He offered up a gentle hand
-
When all around seemed mired in mess
And shrouds of doubt confused one’s sight
He offered up a gentle hand
-
Each turn of life a will oppress
Each turn of card saw hope take flight
What was the Joy of living for
He offered up a gentle hand
-
Those memories which now depress
The future couldn’t be as bright
As tears which flowed through evermore
Tomorrows only promise rain
He offered up a gentle hand
-
The screams of problems needs address
But hesitation heeds their plight
And answers meet one more closed door
With one more reason to explain
Just why it was they were not there
He offered up a gentle hand
-
When all around seek hearts to bless
And sped a smile of lasting light
Where sharing caring riches sore
Contentment only real refrain
For blossoms spreading everywhere
Who had learned why and understand
He offered up a gentle hand

(This poem has a number of things going on. It looks like a free form poem. On closer examination the rhyme pattern is discovered on the matching line of the next stanza, except "understand". "Understand" rhymes with "hand". Is this coincidence or is there some meaning?  Adding one more line to each successive stanza is an allusion to life seemingly adding just one more problem. - I don't consider myself a religious man, though at times when I am alone, one may catch me in conversation with my Lord. I have studied the bible, in its various forms. I tend to get in trouble, with people who "value" the bible, when I point out the non-religious truths in the bible. Most of my life, I've been lucky to have a helping hand (or two, or tree, or...) stretched out in my direction. I'm not saying this is a religious poem. I planned that "He", with a capital "H" was the first word of a sentence. I think I made my meaning clear.)

To go with the poem, I've selected: James Taylor & Carole King "You've Got a Friend"

We move from helping hand to

Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Joseph Lazarow was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for a July 1977 publicity stunt, in which the mayor shook more than 11,000 hands in a single day. No one knows where or when the handshake originated and, let's face it, in today's world, the handshake has spread in new dimensions. There is one that is quite dangerous. Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla (of Smosh), in their deep love for mankind (or the cash they can make from YouTube) have put together a video.
Chances are handshakes won't hurt you. Unless it is with Hannibal Lecter. Then Run! He is gonna eat you! "HAND BOMB"

Dearly Belovéd to Pan Fried Kale

The mystery of lovers' etching left on a special tree

The mystery surrounding cooking good kale

Dearly Belovéd (round)

Dearly belovéd an etching on tree
A soft souvenir of what used to be
A couple in love their moment in bliss
Forever in time their heartbeats to see
-
Was it a teardrop or was it a kiss
That inscribed for all a message as this
Maybe its meaning is drifting in night
A song in the wind the moon wouldn’t miss
-
Whatever its birth it whatever its light
Alive is its flame to make dreams ignite
To feel what it means through love we have bred
And there in our soul awaken its might
-
Dearly belovéd now etched in our head
Our reason its toy what truth does it shed
What is its secret we can’t turn away
Why are we here held by its tender thread
-
Dearly belovéd what does it convey
Dearly belovéd that moves us this way
Dearly belovéd runs loose in our mind
Dearly belovéd it now is this day
-
And then in that pause in love oh so kind
When streams of passion are mists set behind
Dearly belovéd was our memory
That some tomorrow true lovers will find

(First note: I used the word "belovéd" (pronounce bee-luv-ed - 3 syllables). I did this for the beats and to add emphasis to the word beloved (or belovéd). This poem is written with the haze of uncertainty. Then there is the feverish pitch of "Dearly belovéd", just when we think the solution is around the corner. But then we remember this poem is a round. It has no beginning or end. A real mystery... - Arlene and I existed in a realm of well placed chances. (Too bad, it had nothing to do with money. We'd be rich!) Arlene liked to drive. I loved to be with Arlene. We had a friend who worked at Avis. Once in a while, he was able to get us a great deal on unbelievable rent-a-car. Arlene and I rented these dreams and drove off in a random direction. Here's where the real magic kicked in. We always found a nice place to stay, with a vacancy. We found and enjoyed places we never knew existed. Some places only pictures, we took, would give them names. It was a time set aside for us.)

With legends of love in our mind, here's: Joaquin Rodrigo "Concierto De Aranjuez"

From love to kale

Kale is an amazing source of carotenoids, which are linked to one’s level of optimism (So says the North Carolina Kale Growers). I didn't know how to cook kale. Maybe you're in the same boat. Let's paddle our optimism  over to Gregg. With a company named You Suck at Cooking surely he can help. He admits it himself, he can't cook and he isn't a chef, so there are no companies or organizations behind him trying to get our money.
Kale... that's what we need, a more optimistic egotist (Me). "Pan Fried Kale; You Suck at Cooking #ysac (episode 10)"

Something to Every Snapchat Ever

From something strangely mysterious

To something strangely familiar

Something (Italian sonnet)

Something in her smile all is now alright
A brand new morning greeted with a kiss
And no words uttered of another fight
Just quiet wishing always was like this
-
Something in her eyes reflected the past
When worries were few and problems were fair
So many stories of love meant to last
Something that the world and dreams did not share
-
Something in her mood different today
Something full of hope ignited her song
A bashful secret has swept her away
Something that once was has gotten so wrong
-
Something in her kiss was saying much more
Something now crying in my memory
Something now aching those times to restore
Something in my drink meant the end of me

(I don't have to tell anyone about this sonnet. As the story/poem reaches its conclusion, "something" takes over. Just an example of using words and form creatively. - Talk about something taking over: In masonry, we are suppose to take our Lodge problems to the Junior Warden, who will investigate and take appropriate actions. This is how I was put in charge of defense, in a masonic trial. It was an open and shut case and the Junior Warden, who coincidentally was in the field of security, did an excellent job gathering all the evidence. I convinced the prosecuting team to throw out the documentation of the divorce, the defendant was going through, on the grounds that the wife may have said some things that were not true about her husband. Without thinking what they were doing they all agreed. Unfortunately the divorce documentation also contained references to the evidence needed to expel the man from masonry. This is how I won the case and garnished the respect of the "powers behind the scene". Unfortunately, the man was guilty and for 5 years my conscience would haunt me for a job well done (or poorly done by others). On the 6th year, the man was sent prison and solved everyone's problems.)

And the music of one of the kings of mystery:
Alfred Hitchcock Presents Theme - Charles Gounod "The Funeral March of a Marionette"

How about something in the nature of laughs

In July 2011, three Stanford University students, Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, launched a new application. If you guessed Snapchat, you're right. As we know, there's a lot of things we can now do on Snapchat. Or can we? The team at Smosh noticed that most of the activity people engage in over Snapchat are quite similar. Smosh has put together their findings for our opinions. (There is no divorce in this case.)
After you finish laughing, is Smosh close? "EVERY SNAPCHAT EVER"

Heaven In Your Arms to Cat Hug

A lover may write songs or poems to be in the arms of his delight

But nothing is as powerful than a cat hug

Heaven In Your Arms (villanelle)

Let me return into your arms once more
And I will cast the stars for your delight
To know the Joys which heaven has in store
-
This moment has a purpose to explore
A lavish path of wonder to ignite
Let me return into your arms once more
-
The essence of a dream we two will pour
And sip of spring which grants our souls their flight
To know the Joys which heaven has in store
-
And when our passions brings us back to shore
As all which world held real now drifts from sight
Let me return into your arms once more
-
I wander through the times which were before
I didn’t sense how meaningless my blight
To know the Joys which heaven has in store
-
So grant this precious blessing I implore
A bliss a kiss a memory held tight
Let me return into your arms once more
To know the Joys which heaven has in store

(A standard villanelle. Notice how I added a touch of conflict near the end. For those wondering why I capitalized "Joys". Joy was Arlene's middle name. - Talk about names. I named my son Peter, so when Arlene was expecting again, she chose the name Andraya. On the day Andraya was born, it all happened really quick. I was at work when I got the call and still had to pick up Peter at daycare. Arlene went directly to the hospital. When Peter and I arrived the whole floor was very busy and quite confusing. A nurse apologized for the state of affairs, told me my daughter was born and asked me her name. I was mixed up. I turned to the 4 year old, I was holding. Surely he could remember the name his mother had chosen, He said, "Robin". When Arlene woke up and heard the name of our new addition she turned to the culprits for an explanation. When I told her the story she, and everyone there, laughed. Arlene decided to keep the name. That's how Andraya became Robin."

To try to get back to the mood of the poem: RJ's Latest Arrival "Heaven In Your Arms"

Okay, the power of a cat hug is coming

According to Purina, a leading manufacturer of cat products, some believe that if you dream about a white cat, good luck will follow. But the subject is hugs. For that, we turn to Olan Rogers, of Nashville, Tennessee.  Olan is ab actor, director, comedian, YouTuber and he sells T-shirts. What does Olan know about cats, you ask. He owns a cat and a dig. It seems Olan has been away a whiike and is worried how his pets feel about that.
Let's find out and solve the suspense of the cat hug. "CAT HUG"

The Flowing Scent to Colleague sick at work

What special scent flows through a lover's dreams

What special scent at work tells colleagues a coworker is sick

The Flowing Scent (Shakespearean sonnet)

What special scent is flowing through my dreams
To tantalize my heart and claim my soul
With promises refreshing wonder’s streams
And all I ever wanted to console
-
Its satin veils so gently stroke my mind
With feelings fashioned memories ago
And with their kiss are melodies entwined
One wonders did such blossoms really grow
-
And even in my dreams I stumble still
By questioning the moments of it all
What purpose could a splendor’s answer fill
Would knowing help enrich enchantment’s call
-
What special scent in dreams is flowing through
Upon a pillow sharing kiss with you

(Just a standard Shakespearean sonnet. Yet even in a love poem, I've used the third quatrain to set up a conflict (subtle as it may be). - Notice the line, "Would knowing help enrich enchantment’s call", as referring to dreams. I had an abusive childhood. My mother's first husband would beat, hit and decorate the walls with my head. I remember the last beating when I left to join my mother, who had left him for another. He had beat me so much, I couldn't feel the last beating. He stopped and broke down and cried. Soon I started to have recurring nightmares, starring guess who. Some were so bad, I didn't want to return to sleep. I was in my 30's when I finally learned to control my dreams. We met, in a dream (he had died years ago), where I cast him out of my life forever. More than this, I have never had a nightmare again. But strangely, my dreams have lost something.)

Boy! We went from love to a nightmare. Is it possible we can return? N. Vendette "Dreaming"

A scent of laughter might be fitting

So far, the record for using the most sick days goes to flight attendants. Me... I rarely got sick, lucky for my wife. For when I did get sick, I turned into the worst of "baby husbands", whose wife becomes their mommy. Meanwhile, back at the office, Anna shows up sick. Her colleagues share with her (and us) why she should go home and the facts of sick days.
This was meant for fun, not as an educational video. "Sick Day // Colleagues"

My Fantasy to Rubik's Cube Magician

A lover searches for a fantasy which was always there

A magician searches fur one more fantasy to amaze

My Fantasy (villanelle)

Seasons of dreaming of my fantasy
Yet there was just one who trusted my sight
And there she was waiting waiting for me
-
Some soft summer’s mist where it came to be
Touching my heart and this cause to excite
Seasons of dreaming of my fantasy
-
Confusion possessing my clarity
Resting at table was comfort from plight
And there she was waiting waiting for me
-
Hidden in shadows was forbidden key
Some missing piece which I couldn’t ignite
Seasons of dreaming of my fantasy
-
I searched and I struggled through mystery
With but one candle which always shown bright
And there she was waiting waiting for me
-
It took me wisdom of quiet to see
What soft summer’s mist some fool turned to night
Seasons of dreaming of my fantasy
And there she was waiting waiting for me

(This poem follows typical villanelle form. I turned to sound and metaphors to allow readers to free the mind and become a part of this poem. - I might lose some of my fans after admitting this. I'm sorry to say, I was not a perfect lover. I cheated on Arlene many times. I could blame many things, but the fact is, I was a selfish, stupid guy. Arlene was not  stupid. Why she stayed with me... we can only blame it on love. One night two girls had a fantasy planned for me. They took me to a bar to help guarantee their design. They weren't bad looking and how many men would turn down sex with two women? I've never had a menage de trois and after a few drinks, I was totally into it. They took me to the doors of a hotel, where they had rented a room for the occasion. All of the sudden, my mind turned to Arlene, I don't recall if I said anything to the ladies as I turned for home. From that night, I never cheated on Arlene again. Not even in thought.)

For those still with me. here's: Gerard Kenny "You're My Fantasy"

A fantasy of a different sort

Rubik's Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Mickei Le Mouse. No, really, Ernő Rubik. Though many have performed magic on it, I don't think Ernő Rubik intended magic with it. That's what Steven Brundage did for famed magicians Penn and Teller. Steven is a magician from Glenville, New York, who specializes in corporate and private parties. Before amazing Penn and Teller,  it seems Steven used the Rubik's Cube trick to get out of a speeding ticket. He was stopped driving 42 mph in a 30 mph zone, but the police officers decided the incident did not warrant issuing a summons after Steven mesmerized them with his Rubik's Cube skill.
If you are not dazzled by Stevcn, remember magtc may get you out of a speeding ticket, "Rubik's Cube Magician Steven Brundage fools Penn & Teller - Fool Us"

Come With Me to Camp In A Van

A lover takes his heart to a dream she created

A van takes a lad camping in a land of confusion and laughter

Come With Me repeating poem)

A memory
Returns to me
Again to see
What used to be
Come lay with me
Come stay with me
-
Into this light
My soul took flight
A past delight
Did there ignite
Come lay with me
Come stray with me
-
A heartfelt hue
That once we knew
Returns to view
Our Joyous dew
Come lay with me
Come sway with me
-
And soon came moon
To add its tune
As lips commune
Made lovers swoon
Come lay with me
Come pray with me
-
For don’t you see
My memory
You came to be
A dream set free
You laid with me
You stayed with me

(Pretty straight forward love poem. Note though, as the rhyme changes, in the first four stanzas, the last two lines stay pretty similar. As the initial rhyme returns, in the last stanza, the word "come", of the grounded two lines, changes to "you". Why? - Let me share one of the most perfectly planned dates with Arlene. We were going to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Saint Tropez (no longer there). Little did Arlene know that when I made our reservations I also planned the entire experience. I preordered every drink we would have, from our wait at the bar to our after dinner coffee. I selected our dinner, appetizer and dessert. I made arrangements for the pianist to play a few of Arlene's favorites. I prepaid for the whole experience, plus a real hansom tip. By the time we finished our drink, were seated and our waiter brought out apéritifs, Arlene sensed what was going on. I was very lucky and scored BIG that evening. The owner shared what was happening with other regulars. This is how I never had to pay for any appetizers at Saint Tropez again.)

Now after that, if we can remember the poem, here's: Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars"

Now for an adventure of a different kind

In the United States, the modern recreational vehicle industry had its beginnings in the late 1920s and 1930s. To take things one step further, young Anthony Padilla (of Smosh) is introduced to a recreational vehicle of a different kind. Smosh is a web-based comedy duo consisting of Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla. Summer is usually the time for many kids to head off to camp. Unfortunately, in today's economy, summer camps have gotten expensive. Smosh may (or may not) have an answer. So come with me.
This may not be the best solution, but it is funny. "CAMP IN A VAN"
