They Call To Us to Activewear

Voices calling lovers to return

Voices calling to follow a fashion

They Call To Us (round)

They call to us from long ago
Those moments of I love you so
Those magic times we used to know
When all our world put on a show
-
Somehow our moon had lost its glow
It happen as we slept that night
Then daily life became a rite
And kissing time began to slow
-
They call to us from misplaced light
Our vision had a strange new sight
Not me or you that we held tight
Our eyes were fooled by empty blight
-
Another’s dreams were our delight
As we were sold just how to be
Just follow us and you’ll be free
But lose ourselves perhaps we might
-
They call to us sweet memory
Could eyes so blind be taught to see
That this was not our destiny
Our soul’s regret would be our fee
-
Let’s take this chance together we
What we have lost again will grow
Was us who called from long ago
To reclaim this love’s fantasy

(Another example of the round form of poetry. Unlike the haunting nature, I normally use the round form for, this poem is supposed to be a message of hope. - When I joined the Masons I was in my 40,s. Generally speaking, in the San Francisco Bay Area, this was considered young. Masonry here had become an old men's group. When Arlene and I hit the dance floor, with years of practice behind us, we were magic. Word about the two wonders spread. Arlene and I were invited to more and more events. This, along with other events in our lives, turned back the hands of time. We were getting young again. Arlene and I, once again, became those 20 year old lovers, of so long ago. Some other married men, of our age bracket or younger, had joined the Bay Area"s "old men's group". But very few were as lucky as Arlene and I were to follow the voices calling us back. What was even more amazing, we could see other couples who had heard the call. Here was a mystery: Arlene and I became what others wanted to be. Yet we couldn't see the lovers we were destined to become. Ageless... Love's fantasy.)

From love to love of fashion

According to the Huffington Post. in 2014 sales of women's workout clothes were up, while sales of regular women's clothes were down. This suggests women are buying workout clothing for more than working out at the gym. True or not, the Van Vuuren Bros have taken and run with this suggestion. But men, stop a minute. It is not easy to be the "apples of our eyes". In a lot of ways, just being a woman is a workout in itself.
With this in mind, enjoy the show. "ACTIVEWEAR"

The Best Odds In Las Vegas to Baked Yams with Dill

A hard night of limericks and gambling

Call for a well prepared meal - not like this one

The Game Can Be So Cruel (limerick)

She found out her husband was cheating
The tears and the whys now repeating
Oh she took it hard
And yes she’ll be scarred
Explains why at cards she took beating

The Best Odds In Las Vegas (limerick)

If you like the Las Vegas scene
And you think that gambling’s keen
Then please let me share
The best odds you’ll fair
Is found playing their change machine

Advice Of A Recovering Poker Player (limerick)

I use to be a big joker
For each night I use play poker
Frustrations would fetter
As I turned to fretter
Till I found it’s better to stroke her

(Three more examples of my special style of limericks. If one follows the beats, one will discover I get six rhymes in five lines, - Now let's talk about the "secrets" of Freemasonry. Originally there were only two degrees in Masonry. It is believed that somewhere in the 15th century, the third degree was introduced. The Lodge is not even tiled (sworn to secrecy) while the second section is beginning performed by Lodge members. In the degree, three entered apprentices want the secrets of a master mason without going through the proper training. They want their master, Harim Abiff, to give them the secrets or they will take his life. Harim Abiff chose to forfeit his life, rather than giving up the secrets unjustly. The three assailants felt so bad about what they did., only death could ease their torment. It turns out, the secret was so valuable it was split into three parts. Harim Abiff only had one part. The other two were held by King Solomon and Hirim King of Tyre. With Hiram Abiff gone, the secret was lost. It is up to man to find the lost secret. In sharing this, I have betrayed no Masonic secret. The Masons only re-enacted a story found in the old testament of the bible. And as I stated, the Lodge is not tiled. So much for a "Secret Society".)

Everyone likes a good love song. Instead we have: Flight of the Conchords "Carol Brown"

Door To Door to Epic Trailer Gone Wrong

A lover doesn't know where things went wrong

Another person knows where things went wrong - Because a voice told him

Door To Door (Martin verse)

A lover went from door to door
In search of what he had before
A dream perhaps or so much more
Yet why she left he’s still not sure
-
Her kisses felt the same that day
She’d smile and cause his heart to stray
And all their cares seemed far away
Yet why she left she didn’t say
-
Soft shadows linger by the door
His thoughts unknown they drift and stray
His feelings somewhere locked away
And where were tears he wasn’t sure
-
His loneliness now clouds his day
He never knew such pain before
Yet when it’s gone he yearns for more
So he won’t feel what truth may say
-
He held the cause of this he’s sure
He wanted her who wanted more
A story which he heard before
And so he searches door to door

(It has been awhile since we've seen a Martin verse, a rhyme scheme I came up with. It looks difficult, but it is is easier than it looks. The style has going for it, a sense of haunting, as the same words are echoed and lines are repeated. - Here was a verse about a person who finds himself searching for reasons. Obviously I had some level of experience, otherwise I could not have called together something that rings in minds and hearts. In the story a person lost his love. Who hasn't lost something; A love, a moment, a chance.... something. I sometimes wonder about the mistakes I have made. Then I wonder, what new person would I have been if I had not experienced the pain, It seems to me, the same corridor of my life contains doors of joy and fire. We all have our own corridors. We all have our own doors.)

To go with the poem, here's: Earth, Wind & Fire "After The Love Has Gone"

Do you ever hear voices

Ever wonder why movie trailers are called that? They used to be played after the main movie, not before. Some trailers had/have narrators. The team at Smosh wondered, what if in these trailers the narrator had power? What if he had control over everything that goes on in a trailer/ What if he made all the numbers on our lottery ticket come up? (Okay, maybe I took the "what if" too far.)
But, what if? "EPIC TRAILER GONE WRONG"

Oh Sweet Mother to 6 year old girl gives surprising life lesson

Another mother has lost her child to war

A mother receives a lesson of peace from her 6 year old

Oh Sweet Mother (deteriorating poem)

Oh sweet mother do not cry
Not for nothing he did die
With his brothers he does lie
All for freedoms we deny
-
All the while we wonder why
No one heard it wave goodbye
Or that something was awry
As long as we thought we’re safe
-
Like sheep we’re led to comply
To question didn’t dare try
What would other people think
Surely this won’t always be
-
Other cares then drew our eye
People couldn’t pay their bills
A rash of calamities
Our leaders losing our faith
-
But one thing is harshly clear
So many suffered and died
For dream we squander away
Oh sweet mother do not cry

(Here is an example of a deteriorating poem. It starts as a rhyme, but non-rhyming words are introduced until only the beat remains. With the beat (memory), the return of the first line, there is a light of hope implied. - There was a lot going through my mind when I put this poem together. Let  me ramble on this one for awhile. So many, many brave men and women sacrificed and died for rights promised us. It hurts me, to see people searched, especially when back doors are left wide open. In other words, law abiding citizens are subjected to searches, while criminals find a wide open, unguarded source of entry. And then there are the cameras and ears. We used to watch the TV. Now the new TVs will be watching us. Unless we turn this function off, our cell phones know where we are a where we have been and are listening. Our fears are being used to restrict our freedoms in the name of security. Lobbyists and big business have more influence on our leaders than the the people who they have been elected to serve. People who proudly volunteer to serve and die. I know we all see it... feel it. But I know a change is coming. I may not see it, but I feel the hope. Maybe you feel it too.)

Meanwhile, here's a song of hope: Howard Hanson "Song of Democracy"

If you don't think a change ic s coming, video is coming soon

Ever tried to train a goldfish? It has a memory span of about three seconds. Pretty unimpressive. If you want to be impressed then meet this six year old girl. It seems her parents are divorced and have recently had an argument. She sits down with her mom to discuss the matter. What comes out of this six year old's mouth is nothing less than amazing,. Imagine, being her mom after what a six year old just said.
If you still don't believe a change, for the better, is coming, then listen to this six year old. "A 6 year old girl give her mom a wake up calls a lesson of life after her parents been divorced"

The Wind to Little Republicans GOP Debate

The wind came to challenge two lovers

The wind came to change the Republican presidential candidates to children

The Wind (Italian sonnet)

We were the flowers swept across the field
Whose day it was to bask amidst the sun
Discovering what life ahead would yield
Then came the wind to say it had begun
-
And there we were the colors of the day
And all the world would marvel at our scent
We’d cast away the season of dismay
Then came the wind of all the time we spent
-
Then other flowers popped up here and there
What once we knew had begun to estrange
A fresh new scent was taking to the air
Then came the wind to usher in a change
-
Soon one by one the world we knew was gone
The magic of those moments kept us strong
We had each other to depend upon
Then came the wind to carry us along

(Here we have an Italian sonnet, with a repeating theme: The wind of time and change. - I'm pretty sure the theme of this verse is not unique to Arlene and me. Other couples may also relate. I wrote this poem about two lovers and the wind of time and change. But if one stops and thinks about it, this idea can relate to other things. For instance: I joined Masonry under the system of one man and one student. One mason was assigned to help and guide an initiate through the three degrees. Like a proud parent, this teacher took his student under his wing to motivate and show off his charge. I was one of these students and in time, one of those teachers. Unfortunately times (the wind) were taking its toll on these teachers and the Masons needed a change for a new generation. Fred Nielson and I came up with a new system. A system where initiates could learn from more than one teacher. Not only this, but students learned to socialize and express their opinions. Students were encouraged to share their impressions of freemasonry. In keeping with a lesson of Masonry, Fred and I turned over control of these classes to the next generation of masons (the wind). Years later a question of religion came up. I smiled as the wisdom of the new system arose to manage the issue. Yes, sadly the days of one man and one student was gone to the wind. - Did you notice how the wind changed this explanation from love to an insight into a "secret organization"?)

Here is a wind I think you will enjoy: Nina Simone - Wild is the Wind

I feel the wind one more time

At the age of 8, Michael Kearney was the youngest person to graduate from college (Santa Rosa Junior College in Sonoma County, California). He graduated with an Associate of Science in Geology. With that in mind, imagine all of this year's Republican presidential candidates as children. Magic Beans TV did. Magic Beans is a Los Angeles based studio which displays the talent and magic
of kids for our enjoyment. Somehow they got the idea of a parody where kids reenact the second Republican presidential debate.
Watching the real debate myself, I wonder where Magic Beans got their inspiration? "Little Republicans: 2nd GOP Debate"

Alone At Home to Stop Saying Literally

Alone at home a phone call leads to tragedy

Alone at a bar a phone call leads to sick humor - Literally

Alone At Home (English sonnet)

Alone at home his wife again not there
She’s out with him came rushing to his mind
A pain with which he should be more resigned
As signs of him were written everywhere
-
He turned toward rage his anger to unwind
And wildly shattered things without a care
Till something tender gently caught his stare
And brought his thoughts to love now so unkind
-
He loved her so why is he now alone
While stranger dwells in heaven of her kiss
His tears now curse what time brought to his side
-
Then came a call upon his telephone
And all his worldly reason fell to this
His car had crashed and sadly his wife died

(This sonnet employees another trick I've learned to toy with - shock. To make the conclusion more dramatic, I made the beginning straight forward. Isn't it interesting, how one line changes the whole poem? - This poem was an experience of a friend of mine. He and his wife were part of our disco scene. They even came to a few dinner parties Arlene and I through. After our disco days to the birth of Peter, our son, we saw less and less of the couple. I don't know how the husband found out where we lived,, since Arlene and I had moved, but one night he showed up at our door, drunk. He told Arlene and I the story of the problems he and his wife were having and about the other man. He was too drunk to send home by himself, so we let him crash on the couch. The next morning, he thanked us for listening and apologized. He did this two more times. This is where the story gets a little strange. I got home late. Arlene said I had to talk to our friend about dropping by unannounced. The phone began ringing as Arlene was finishing her thought. It was the police. They asked if I could meet them at San Francisco General Hospital. There, in the emergency ward, an officer told me my friend's wife was involved in a fatal car accident. The strange gets stranger. Arlene and I stayed with our friend as long we could. We needed some rest, so we went home to sleep. When  we went back to the hospital, our friend had disappeared. No one knew where he went. Arlene and I never heard from our friend again.)

This all calls for a haunting song: Roy Orbison "Crying"

After all that, how about a smile

Literally literally means in a literal manner or sense; exactly or it is used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true. I bet you didn't expect an English lesson when you stopped by. It is kind of important that we all know what "literally" literally means. (Why? I don't know.) Have you ever had a friend who literally uses literally too much? In this sketch by BuzzFeed Video, two friends are supposed to meet up at a bar. One of the friends literally uses "literally" literally too much. He is warned but literally continues using "Literally" - literally. The end result is literally heart breaking but literally funny.
I hope we're too tired of hearing 'literally" to enjoy this video. "STOP SAYING LITERALLY"

Lovers Of The Candlelight to Trump Sabotages Wife’s Interview

Two lovers meet in the candlelight to explore a season of their love

Two "lovers" meet in light less dim to explore a reason for their "love"

Lovers Of The Candlelight (changing poem)

Like dancing stars they met the night
Mid mist and moods of sheer delight
Their dreams their wings to give them flight
These lovers of the candlelight
-
What vision did they have in sight
What promise held their hopes so tight
What secret gave them clarity
These lovers of the candlelight
-
Such wonders would these two ignite
A rush a heart was thrilled to see
A chance to touch what couldn’t be
These lovers of the candlelight
-
Each kiss a wind swept melody
They touch what passion longs to free
As time stands still and reasons flee
These lovers of the candlelight
-
Soon sleep must meet reality
As dreams drift toward their destiny
Did it happen a chance maybe
These lovers of our memory

(This poem has a lot going on, beside two people enjoying a moment. In the second stanza, the use of  the word "What" to awaken imaginations. The line "These lovers of the candlelight" disappears as the candle goes out and the couple drift off. Yes... dreams can also mean lovers. - Imagine two lovers, in a city by the stars, at a time that was much easier, in moments set aside. Arlene and I were often busy or going out. But there were moments set aside just for us. One of our favorite escapes was Lookout Point. This was a parking area above the ruins of the old Sutro Baths. Arlene and I would climb into the backseat of our car and cuddle under a blanket we'd bring along for the occasion. It was so strange, most of the time the perfect music was coming from somewhere. And in the scent of jasmine, we'd watch the drama of sunset. There, in the magic of those moments what adventures transpired. Everything from the fire of passion to the song of Arlene sharing with me her day. There was something to Arlene's voice. As I got older, I grew more attracted to it. So there was a couple's candlelight.)

A little mood music: Kyle Wolverton "Candlelight Kisses"

From love to "love"

Melanija Knavs (or Melania Trump) was born in Sevnica, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on April 26, 1970. A graduate of the University of Ljubljana, she is a model and a jewelry designer. Bryan Olsen (of Barely Productions) caught up to Melania (or actress Meg Cupernall, made-up to look like her) for an exclusive interview. Donald Trump (or actor Mike Birch,made-up to look like him) comes in to offer his two cents (properly inflated to meet the Trump standards). So, what follows is an exclusive interview of an actress, interrupted by an actor, for an undisclosed amount of money.
Confused yet? "Donald Trump Sabotages Wife’s Interview"
