Face Among The Dust to recognize Chris Pratt

Do we remember the face of our teachers

Do we remember the face of a movie star

Face Among The Dust (Italian sonnet)

And there he is this face among the dust
So much of life now glimmer in his eye
The traces of the glories now gone by
Are whispered in the winds of dreamers’ gust
-
Such silence echoes from his empty chair
Of images in long forgotten hues
Which disbelieving sages still excuse
Yet they are proof that something else was there
-
The time has changed the meaning of the stage
Where he could call enchantments to his side
The limits of the others were his pride
Before his story reached the final page
-
But those were moments buried in a while
When like his teachers fertile seeds would sow
From which familiar faces would soon grow
Who dusted off the reason for a smile

(There is a reason I have used so much metaphor in this sonnet. It has to do with the subject matter... teachers. May I suggest, rather than trying to analyse, let your feelings go with the flow. - I was very lucky to have so many good teachers in my life. (Let's just focus on my school days.) In a lot of ways, the person I am now started in 7th grade, when I met Mr. Johnny Land. Although the single biggest influence throughout my school days, he was but one of many faces behind this one. There was my English teacher Mr. Noble, my high school choir teacher and philosopher Mr. Wilkerson, Biology Mr. Ball, Physical Ed. Mr. Powers, and the list goes on and on. I was not a straight A student, but I did my best. I think what made me stand out was my willingness to stand out. I was always on stage, at the school's car wash, gave that little extra at homework, and more. I earned my letter as a junior. It wasn't so much that I was great. I was a show off, with great teachers. In enjoyed my time in school and was sad when it was all over and all those many faces took their places in my memory. When I became a coach for youth soccer and latter a teacher for the Masons, those familiar faces returned, welcoming me.)

To go with this theme: Maurice Jarre "Dead Poets Society"

From faces in memories to a face that tests memories

The terrifying Mosasaurus, seen in the movie "Jurassic World", was not a dinosaur but a colossal marine lizard. Speaking of "Jurassic World", Chris Pratt starred in it. Christopher Michael "Chris" Pratt] is an actor  best known for his television roles, including Bright Abbott in "Everwood", and Andy Dwyer in "Parks and Recreation". Enough about him. Billy Eichner, of Billy on the Street, is a comedian who  tests the music and pop culture knowledge of passersby on the streets of New York City. Billy went out with Chris Pratt to see if anybody recognized him.
Remember, Chris Pratt is an actor who starred in "Jurassic World". "Billy on the Street - Chris Pratt Lightning Round"

Flowers to Multiplying Frogs Revealed

The secret of flowers envelops lover

The magic of Carbonaro frog envelops imagination

Flowers (progressive/regressive poem)

My
Reply
To flowers’
Hidden powers
Over special glow
Your smile begins the show
That there’s magic all around
Flowing with kisses which abound
To scent this wonder you sent my way
The greatest Joy I’ve come across today
Witnessing such beauty on display
From ones who slumber near the ground
And sways to the breeze’s sound
It’s better not to know
Why I love you so
Midst the showers
Of the hours
A sigh
Why

(To form one of these (with or without rhymes) add one beat to each successive line. Then, one by one, take the beats away. One can  also use this concept to imitate winds and waves and such, to add a backdrop to a poem. In this poem I have tried to imitate a lover's frame of of mind building up to and calming down from a kiss. - There was this one person whose love began when a tear touched his arm. Then there  was a young man who enjoyed to figure things out. To dispel magic. To figure out how things were done. He would see magicians and "miracle workers" and ruin the moment for everyone. To help him, on his path of destruction, he even studied and learned a few of things that he tried to destroy. One day, at a magic show for children, these two persons met. Instead of watching the magician, he was captured by the magic of the children, as the moment worked its wonder. He could never turn back the clock of his age, but he could recapture a youthful acceptance he was so freely discarding. Oddly, the few slight of hands, he had learned grew more entertaining, as he learn to enjoy, rather than to analyze. And so it was; The legend of the magic tear lives on.)

And so for the flowers: Isisip " The Lotus Flower"

Introducing the magic of Carbonaco

A frog completely sheds its skin about once a week. After it pulls off the old, dead skin, the frog usually eats it. Just thought this fact would be useless as we watch Carbonaco go to work. Michael Carbonaro is an Oakdale; New York actor, magician, and improv artist. Although this young magician has numerous awards, his magic's biggest claim to fame is, "It got me through college." Playing a teacher in college, Carbonano is about to teach his assistant a few things about frogs,
Sit back and enjoy the magic. ",The Carbonaro Effect - Multiplying Frogs Revealed"

Nothing is worth more than this day.
You cannot relive yesterday.
Tomorrow is still beyond our reach.
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Patty Trahoon to Momster Mash

A legend returns to terrorize our souls

A mommy returns to terrorize her children

Patty Trahoon (story poem)

When problems seem so far away
And worries appear under bay
And night draws its shadow on day
But listen I’ve something to say
It just might be death’s afternoon
This legend of Patty Trahoon
-
Some say he is all in our head
Some choose to stay quiet instead
While some run for safety of bed
He’ll be upon us really soon
Aware of the things which were said
This one they call Patty Trahoon
-
Brave people don’t often recall
Exactly how the mighty fall
Or what turns a mind to a loon
Is not what they dwell on at all
When they know there’s no way to stall
The terror of Patty Trahoon
-
Oh mothers kiss children goodnight
And stay with them under this moon
But don’t let your eyes close too tight
Stay weary of oncoming blight
That shadow that just stole that light
Might just be this Patty Trahoon
-
When dawn brings an end to this tune
And hope again welcomes the sun
They laugh at a tale that was spun
For all a new day has begun
For all that is except for one
Now taken by Patty Trahoon

(Notice how the line that rhymes with "Trahoon" progresses one step closer to the top as the pom progresses. - Patty Trahoon was a character made up by my fake brother. That's right, I said fake brother. In 8th grade I met this person, Mike, who looked exactly like me. My doppelganger! We looked so much alike no one could tell us apart. We became brothers. Brothers whose mother divorced our father, which explained why we had different last names (to confused minds). Mike lived with his aunt and I left my stepfather to move in with my mother and her new husband, when Patty Trahoon was created. My mom and Mike's aunt were very superstitious. Mike was very thorough introducing "the legend of Patty Trahoon" to them. I simply played along. "Oh yes; Everyone knows that." Whenever things went wrong or things came up missing, it was Patty Trahoon. As Mike and I grew older, the legend planted by two young pranksters lived on. After all, two charming young men would never lie to their mother.)

I know if Patty Trahoon were here, he'd appreciate this theme song:
John Carpenter "The Fog"

From one tale of terror to another

Smelling bananas and/or green apples (smelling, not eating) can help you lose weight. Parents, try this instead of embarrassing your children. But if you must embarrass your kids, listen to the advice of Deva Dalporto's 9 year old daughter. It seems, with Halloween around the corner, the kids at school are having a common problem. Their moms.
In hopes that their moms might get the message and to help other kids, who are suffering the same plight, the kids have put together this PSA. "Momster Mash - Monster Mash Parody"

No Man Is Perfect to Crispy Ramen Salad

You might find these Limericks cute

Or wonder if "cooking lesson" was trying to be cute

Did I Say I Took Kids To Park (limerick)

I took kids to park every day
And there in the sun we would play
We’d let dreams unfurl
And let fancies twirl
Until the cute girl went away

No Man Is Perfect (limerick)

Though he may be cuter than heck
With him paradise you may trek
Though his love won’t wane
Girl let me explain
A vampire’s a pain in the neck

My Cute Pet Name (“limerick”)

As lovers learn their hearts to tame
They give one another cute name
So as days went by
And moons kissed the sky
That’s how "You Miserable Louse If You Don’t Stop Cheating On Me I’m Going To Kick Your Sorry Butt" I soon became

(More examples of my 6/5 limericks. I get 6 rhymes in 5 lines. Follow the beats. The last "limerick" is an example of absurdity. But if one counts everything within the parenthesis as one beat, it becomes a 6/5 limerick. - Now to dispel more of those Masonic "secrets". Many people believe the Masons are one of those secret societies trying to take over the world.
There are a number of holes in this belief. Masons are discouraged from discussing religion and politics in Lodge settings, except if it is related to our public schools. The reason for this is because religion and politics are sources of discord among men. We are encouraged, and are encouraged to encourage others, to practice, outside the Lodge setting, our personal religious and political beliefs. .Another Major factor is our meetings. Ironically, legend has it that the modern congressional system of holding meetings was developed by Freemasonry. it is hard to believe. Although I love and respect my brothers, our meetings are hardly examples of the rulers of the world. Imagine me in charge. Need I say more?)

Why? Just because: Lonely Island "The Creep" (feat. Nicki Minaj & John Waters)

Now here's a cooking lesson worth forgetting

The largest cabbage dish ever made was on December 19, 2008 in the Macedonian city of Prilep, with 80,191 cabbage rolls called sarmas weighing 1,221 lbs. A bit less aggressive, our "favorite chef", Gregg of You Suck At Cooking; shares a cabbage salad recipe he got from his mom. According to Gregg's mom, "My recipe is actually quite good, if that (censored, censored, censored, censored) son of mine could only follow instructions."
I am told Gregg's recipe is also useful for anyone wishing to end a relationship. "Crispy Ramen Salad - You Suck at Cooking (episode 21)"

Wonder Which Is You to Life With A Cat

A lover finds his fulfillment in a dream

A couple find their fulfillment in a cat

Wonder Which Is You (round)

Please take me to the wonder which is you
Across the flow of splendor and surprise
To timeless Joy which only dreams devise
To kiss the spring where wishes all come true
-
What strains the song of you brings to my eyes
Refrains from meadows of another day
Lush lanes were lovers’ fancies freely play
The rains which warm the rainbows of your sighs
-
Don’t let this gift this moment slip away
I know tomorrows always wander near
As well as heartache’s reason for a tear
Who knows the times for fantasies to stray
-
So take me to the wonder I revere
And let my heart know soul which it beats to
A memory which timelessness is due
The way of life and love which brought us here

(Another version of a round. In this form, the rhyme cycles blooms from the center, like a flower. The last rhyme scheme leads back to the first. - Like this poem I was helplessly and joyfully caught in the cycle of love. Maybe many of you are too. Are there days that are somehow better and you're just not certain why? Ever been in a bad situation and a ray of light, perhaps a song, maybe a familiar fragrance or an image from a memory calls us back. It's okay. I will be waiting. A box of candy. Her favorite perfume A small surprise. A thank you, and it starts once more. Oh yes, there were some times that tested, blinded and tried to steal a lifetime. But something opened our eyes from this sleep, to again rejoice in the cycle. A cycle within a cycle. A cycle which grew fuller, richer, more fulfilling than we ever dreamed possible. I was caught in the cycle of love. Maybe many of you are too.)

Let us celebrate the cycle: Elvis Presley "Can't Help Falling In Love"

Okay, the couple is in love, Now what?

According to veterinarians, in 2014, the most popular name for dogs and cats was Bella. His name wasn't Bella, but rather Tiger. Tiger is a cat, welcomed into the home of a loving couple. Friskies and BuzzFeed Video bring to life the tale of this love filled home.
We hope Tiger's new family bring a smile. "Life With A Cat // Presented By BuzzFeed & Friskies"

A World Apart to What Do You Mean? Parody

What is the world of dreams? Don't try to understand

What does Justin Bieber mean? Don't try to understand

A World Apart (English sonnet)

One wonders through the flow within his mind
The things of dreams do dance at his command
A world apart don’t try to understand
Just follow what a heart set free designed
-
As endless possibilities expand
Each whispered wish is never left behind
Within his smile our reason is resigned
A world apart don’t try to understand
-
What once was told he turns to something new
What once were words he puts upon display
He reaches forth to offer up his hand
-
One wonders through the flow well known by few
Where children of our heart are safe to stray
A world apart don’t try to understand

(I think the most valuable point of this sonnet is: The message is more important than the form. Normally an English sonnet, of this type, follows this form: ABBA BAAB CDE CDE. I used: ABBA BAAB CDA CDA. Plus, I repeated entire lines. Keep in mind, I am not a poetry teacher, but did you like the sonnet? - In my life, I did many amazing things. Of my 4 brothers and 2 sisters, in my mind, I have achieved more than all of them combined. One day, I was talking to one of my brothers. I was subtly boasting of my achievements and encouraging him to do something with his life. I then learned that he was a volunteer for cancer research. Whoever needed feet for a walk-a-thon, he was there. I further learned my "worthless" brother, who could have been great at car engines, was big at donating blood. True, I achieved more than all of my siblings, but things seemed to form a path for me and they all achieved wondrous dreams of their own. Consider this: my mother baked my favorite cookies. Only my sisters now know how to bake those cookies. True, I achieved more than all of my siblings, but "more" in my mind. What is $100 to a wealthy person? All the money I funneled toward the pubic schools, a wealthy individual could easily out do. Dreams are an individual thing. We, the dreamers, must follow our own dreams.)

To inspire our dreams: Mitch Leigh "Impossible Dream"

Bart Baker ventures into the mind of Justin Bieber

Canada is the home of the longest street in the world. Yonge Street in Ontario which starts at Lake Ontario and runs north through Ontario to the Minnesota border, a distance of almost 2000 kilometers. Canada is also the birth place of Justin Bieber. Our buddy Justin has been back in the news lately. Many are wondering, what's up with him. To which Justin has released his latest hit "What Do You Mean". Bart Baker has made it his latest mission to explore the Bieber world. Bart Baker is a song parody writer and performer (not a psychoanalyst), so don't expect anything but laughs.
I am informed, Bart Baker is a big Justin Bieber fan, so this video is not intended as an insult. "Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean? PARODY"

You to How To Get A Girlfriend

Thoughts of a lover obsessed with his girlfriend

Efforts of a lover trying to get a girlfriend

You (poem)

Who knew of the storm which would brew
The instant my eyes set on you
And what was this poor soul to do
But plan all I’d hope for toward you
-
Soon you were my whole point of view
Till all that I thought of was you
Now you are the song I dance to
Each heartbeat is now you you you
-
Gone was the world which I once knew
Those carefree times we used to know
When from our dreams all hopes once grew
And from a pup a man would grow
-
And what a man the world would see
For there was nothing I can’t do
Believing there was only me
Until I set my eyes on you
-
I had my dreams and maybe two
Now sleepless nights revolve on you
The reason all of this is due
Because I’m so in love with you

(Have you ever been obsessed with someone? Then this poem struck home. The speaker is obsessed with a girl. The poem begins with every line ending with or rhyming with "you". He realizes his obsession and tries something new. He makes one mistake or can't break his obsession. After two failed tries the poem, and the lover, return to the original rhyme scheme. - Arlene and I got married July 27.1974. But the other important date was April 27, 1965. The day after our first kiss. The day we started going steady. We would celebrate both of these days. The first kiss took place in front of library across the street from Arlene's school. 20 years years later, I reenacted that first kiss. I made arrangements with Arlene's job, at the time. Ladies, close your eyes, Imagine sitting at your desk. Outside comes the sound of mariachi. You rush to the window with your coworkers and see your lover surrounded by 5 mariachi. Arlene ran through the door, into my waiting arms, reenacting (minus the mariachi)  our first kiss.)

The mariachi didn't play this, but it captures the mood:
Oscar Hammerstiein "All The Things You Are"

WARING - This is not how not how to get a girl

Studies show the time it takes to receive a reply text from your date correlates with the length of your future relationship. I hope this video was meant entirely to be a comedy or else Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla, of Smosh, have a big problem. Anthony guides us through the techniques he uses to get a girlfriend. Anthony is unattached. I wonder why. But then again, I've been out of the dating scene for some time.
"Follow these simple steps and you'll be on your way", the ad says. The question is: on your way where? "HOW TO GET A GIRLFRIEND"
