Too Many to Who Will Stop the Bullying
The challenges of relationships how do lovers handle them
The challenges of bullying how do we stop them

Too Many (Shakespearean sonnet)

Too many painful heartaches have we bourn
Too many sleepless nights of deep regret
The empty shouts with which we were beset
The lonely darkness sheltering our mourn
-
Too many minute passing as if years
Wondering are we ever coming home
Reflecting on what was where does it roam
We can’t believe that love could bring such tears
-
Too many dreams still waiting to come true
Too many plans were made that didn’t last
Too many angry blames were freely cast
Too many woes to stop a kiss that’s due
-
Yet through it all we found great Joy somehow
Too many things have passed to give up now

(Another example of "Surprise Factor". This time, from a world of negatives, a positive is born. To accentuate the finale, I used the words "too many". I could have used "too many" to start every line, but by adopting  the pattern used, a level of interest is brought to this sonnet,.- Years after we where married, trouble came into Arlene's and my life. So much for the "perfect lovers". The sonnet covered most of what went on. Maybe some of our readers can relate. Ever hear the saying, "Never go to bed angry"? Good advice, but hard to put into practice, Arlene and I adopted,"Blessed be the ties that bind." Those "ties" also include the troubled waters. we bridged, and stayed in love. We lived a great roller coaster ride. What made the fireplace warmer, on those cold nights was, we lived it together.)

After all, tomorrow will be: New Beginning "Another Day"

Next challenge

Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose. What can we do to help stop bullying? Put yourself in the target’s place and show your support. UP (Stand Up Against Bullying) has produced a great video showing that we can stop bullying.
What is great about this video is, it shows the we have different styles of getting involved. They all work. "Who Will Stop the Bullying?"

Dance On Heaven’s Shore to Let's see your Candy Bowl

A strange romantic dance for lovers

A strange new dance for Halloween

Dance On Heaven’s Shore (English sonnet)

Once more the lovers’ music claimed the night
As they were in each other’s arms once more
There was no doubt who satin stars were for
As they would be the reason for the light
-
And in their shadow oh what dreams would sore
Soft waves of kisses rose to grace their sight
Each heartbeat would another Joy invite
As there again they danced on heaven’s shore
-
Amazed they gazed what timelessness could weave
As other dreamers lovers happened on
One chance to touch upon a moment’s glow
-
For dawn will spawn tear’s reason to retrieve
And why his curtains are forever drawn
He dances with one lost long whiles ago

(Another example of a "surprise factor", an unexpected ending, a mind blower. Everything was going beautifully until the last line. Also notice that the triplets start with a rhyme within a rhyme. This was done to further draw off the mind, until the final conundrum. - It has been a long time since Arlene died. I am old and in a less than favorable situation. I did remarry after four years of mourning and at the encouragement of others. But as for my future, it is not good. Yet my doctors and therapists are amazed at my positive attitude. Why shouldn't I have a positive attitude, even though I have little, in this life, to look forward to? After all, with all of the challenges, I lived a great life. A life others only dream about. And in my nights I dance with my memories. Live a celebration.)

A song and performance that goes well with this theme:
Il Divo "I Can't Live, If Living Is Without You"
with Victor Fung & Anastasia Muravyeva

There is a new dance creeping to Trick or Treat

According to the New York Post, Americans spent over 217 million dollars, in 2014, on Halloween candy. 2015 is expected to be ever bigger. With all that candy, kids are expected to put on a few more pounds. Especially the kids over 20 years old. In preparation for this omen, the Holderness family have come up with a new dance to shake off a few of those pounds. The  Holderness family consists of Kim and Penn and their two kids, Lola and Charles. Their new dance is called the Candy Bowl.
Here is a question: Is this a real dance or a way of getting candy from our kids? "Let me see your CANDY BOWL! A Halloween, Tootsee Roll Parody #CandyBowl"

Dream big and dare to fail.

Sunset Calling to Little Democrats Debate

As sunset calls a traveler sighs a sad reminder

As sunset calls children shine of hope

Sunset Calling (poem)

It called upon a gentle sunset
Across the fields of long ago
A melody refreshing
Danced its moments through my heart
-
It sang about those treasured days
Of smiles and laughter youth displays
Of lovers and their hideaways
As flowers’ whispers formed a maze
-
It sang about a gentle face
And all my cares flowed through this grace
No other beauty could I trace
A dream’s desire I can’t erase
-
It sang about the kisses shared
As moments flared went unimpaired
And to each other secrets bared
Till holding future we prepared
-
And on and on the sweet tune went
Past each refrain a new one sent
Until my soul felt what it meant
And tears began to flow
-
It called upon a gentle sunset
Another chance I didn’t take

(This could be a free form poem, except for one point. In the first stanza we are introduced to the speaker. Notice that the next succession of stanzas rhyme except for the last line. In the final two lines, we gain an insight, as the speaker returns. - Early in my youth, there was a girl, Gloria. She was the girl, in school, that all the boys were after. As sought after as I was, I never bothered going after her. After all, what would Gloria want with me? Years later, Gloria asked me why I never approached her. I found out, she found me as unapproachable as I found her. It was an irony that would wake something up in me. I swore to never let things pass me by again. Later in life, I visited people in the hospital. Some of these people were dying. Those who felt they had a full and complete life were content with their approaching death. In the lesson of Gloria, to the dying people, is the message of the poem.)

To go with this theme, we offer the paintings of Goya and:
Wayra "Voices of the Wind"

Now let's see what tomorrow's leaders have to say

Why is the Democrat party's mascot an ass? Legend has it, Andrew Jackson was labelled a "jackass" by his opponents during the presidential race of 1828, so the Democrats went with it and adopted the donkey as their party's symbol. As far as the elephants (Republicans), they recently held their first debate. Then it was the Democrat's turn.To be fair to both sides, it's only fair that we bring back the kids, to act out their reactions.
Ever hear, :Out of the mouth of babes"? Well, watch and enjoy."Little Democrats: 1st Democratic Debate"

The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions -
the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss, a smile, a
kind look, a heartfelt compliment in the disguise of
a playful raillery, and the countless other infinitesimal
of pleasurable thought and genial feeling.

Kiss Of Night to Every Halloween Ever

A kiss at night turns into a nightmare

A quest for candy turns into every Halloween ever

Kiss Of Night (Shakespearean sonnet)

His world caressed forgiving kiss of night
The scent of life’s allurement all around
No reason for dark shadows on the ground
And there she was his object of delight
-
Her image fair this dream laced minuet
A youth so blessed by springtime’s wonderment
That smile her eyes were splendor’s heaven sent
And with the moon was stage of passion set
-
The couple met as stars began their play
Deep in his eyes she gazed some future fate
Within his arms her keys to ever wait
He claimed her heart and they were on their way
-
Their passion formed one more unanswered stream
As people gathered no one heard her scream

(A love story/poem gone bad, would be putting it lightly. We start off with him, then we drifted to her and then we see them as a couple. It all sounds pretty good, so far. Even as we come to the rhyming couplet, everything was going well, as the crowd gathered. It isn't until the very end the cover is pulled off the gruesome crime. This is an example of playing with the mind. - The Masonic ritual is set. It contains over 6 million words and doesn't allow for any ad libbing (though mistakes often happen). It took me 6 years to set the 3 degrees and the funeral to memory. I was good, but not the best. As I took the stage, what was I to do to add to what was for hundreds of years? Our members have been sitting through the rituals since they became Masons. Imagine watching the same movie over and over and over and... Attendance was faltering. What was I to do? First: I practiced in front of full length mirror. Second: I went to see what others were doing. Thirdly: I made sure I was delivering the lessons they wanted and needed to hear. The surprise factor.  Fourth: I would directly interact with my audience, by making eye contact.  Lastly and what I believe made me a winner: I would encourage interaction and participation before, during the intermission and after the ritual. I believe it was "the surprise factor" that gained me popularity and brought attendance up as more men adopted my tactics and added their own. The surprise factor.)

Here is a song/production to go with the sonnet: Kurt Weill "Mack the Knife"

With the mood set how about some Halloween

I bet you didn't know there was a $1,000 fine for using or selling silly string in Hollywood in Halloween. Talking about silly, take Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla, of Smosh. You don;t want them, you say. Oh well. Can I convince you to watch their latest video? The duo insist it is a compilation of the Halloweens we all ave experienced. I don't know about that. It did make me laugh, though.
Are you sure, I can;t talk you into taking Ian and Anthony? They are house broken. "EVERY HALLOWEEN EVER"

Land Of Lofty Lovers to Jurassic World's cheap trailer

A world beyond earthly riches

A world that could use a few more dollars

Land Of Lofty Lovers (Martin verse)

I saw my love again today
Delighting me with her display
And once again I’m swept away
To land lofty lovers do stray
-
Each flower bears her gentle scent
Each breeze whispered kiss she sent
And for her smile the sun was meant
And for her love this dream was spent
-
She’s all I think about today
Each heartbeat is a song she sent
And in her eyes my soul was meant
Here was the breath made reason stray
-
Reality its vicious scent
It yearns to put pain on display
And wishes cast so far away
In hopes our land is spent
-
Yet somewhere still my thoughts will stray
Those years since my love passed away
And still she’s here this grand display
I saw my love again today

(Another example of a Martin verse. A poetic form I created in 2010. Its haunting effectiveness is its reuse of words. In this case a whole line: "I saw my love again today". In the beginning, supported by lofty ideas, the words have a different meaning as the same words have in the end. A thought provoking demonstration of change. - On a broad view, Arlene's and my world was pretty remarkable. As proof of our luster. other people and organisations enjoyed having us around. When I was with Arlene, little else seemed to matter. Sure, there was a lot I could ave done better. But consider a relationship so rich that one dare not change even the shortfalls, the pains, the arguments and the sorrows. Arlene died in 2002. Sure, it was extremely painful. But I was blessed to have given to me such vast moments. Moments which we danced to. Moments which return to kiss away the need for tears.)

Arlene didn't like flowers, but she did like this song:
Henry Mancini "Days Of Wine And Roses"

Money may not be everything  but a little more sure helps

Pteranodon had a wingspan of up to 18 feet, yet paleontologist say they had unusually weak feet, making a certain scene in "Jurassic World" impossible. Considering this was a science fiction movie there may be a hole in the paleontologists' theory. Another theory is that movie trailers don't have to be expensive. For this we turn to Matthew Potter.  Mathew is a new YouTuber, who read something (once) about paleontology With a whopping.£50 (about 77.37 US Dollars), which he borrowed from his mum, he created this very cost defective trailer for "Jurassic Wold".
One problem with Mathew's trailer (one of many) is: "Jurassic World" has been out for several months and it already has fairly good trailers. "Jurassic World - Sweded Trailer"

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.
Marcel Proust
Behold the Sun to Zombie Contouring Makeup

What is the secret to the beauty of the day

What is the secret to applying the proper zombie makeup

Behold the Sun (Shakespearean sonnet)

Behold the sun one purpose does it serve
A light to cast such beauty to this world
A ray of hope for which our dreams unfurled
And from this purpose I shall never swerve
-
The flowers dance exited by the light
They add a scent of magic to the air
A spring of luster sparkles everywhere
An endless fantasy of sheer delight
-
A breeze ignites invited by the sun
Its whispers spread sweet warmth across the heart
And in its path what melodies will start
Entrancing all the thrills the light has spun
-
And when my night comes what am I to do
The sun the light I dream about is you

(An out and out love sonnet. At first, one thinks the speaker is glorifying the sun and the beauty of the day. Also note that there is no conflict lines. The big surprise is held off until the very last line. The entire sonnet was a metaphor to express his feelings about his beloved. - When I look back at the time frame of Arlene and my love affair; It was magic; It was perfect. We were young lovers in the world of the "Flower Children" (the 60s) in San Francisco. We were married in the disco era. We raised a family in the quiet of the 80s and were reborn in the 90s. It was like the world was created for Arlene and me. Behold the sun. My reason for another day. Sure, at times, I was a stupid guy. Maybe, at times, I held Arlene too close. But at the end of the day, there she was, )

And Arlene and my grandest memories:
Seals and Crofts "Summer Breeze"

Since Halloween is approaching and zombies are so popular, let's make a memory with a zombiefied makeup artist

George A. Romero’s 1968 movie "Night of the Living Dead" is universally credited as being the film from which all zombie movies today have their roots. Daisy is a writer and actor at BuzzFeed Video. She also has as thorough and extensive cosmetic education and experience as most YouTube makeup personalities. Put zombies and Daisy together, and throw in Daisy's friend Charlie, and we just may have a top notch instructional video on how to put on zombie makeup in time for Halloween.
In time for Halloween. After enjoying this video, we may need the extra time (before Halloween) to get other's advice about zombie makeup. "Zombie Contouring Makeup Tutorial (Parody)"

The Shadows to Halloween Light Show 2015

In the darkness a man's shadows come alive

In the darkness a house once again comes alive

The Shadows (poem)

Tearing
Bearing
Unsparing
Sitting in the darkness of his own creation
No well lighted doors
To help him escape
From the shadows
In the mirrors
Calling
Return
-
Staring
Glaring
Despairing
Distorting rain stained windows to a use to be
What is it they want
These shadows of when
Dancing upon
Tears of his heart
Moments
To burn
-
Sparing
Daring
Declaring
His soul shouts out the echoes of its tortured plea
Make your meaning plain
Or leave us alone
Alone in this
Mire of lost time
His to
Discern
-
Whirling
Twirling
Unfurling
The world of his room started spinning frustration
Shattering all glass
As the shadows screamed
Opening doors
Welcoming light
To fate
He’d yearn

(I hesitated calling this a free form poem, As each stanza begins and ends in rhyme. The rational behind this structure is the character's slip to a different reality. The conclusion of the poem is entirely to the reader, - My shadows were stress. Whether it was a performance on a stage or an idea come to life at a major oil company, there was the stress. Oh yes; one can practice for days and hours, go over and over every detail. but the "moment of truth" will do what it will do, especially if one insists on something new. This stress was particularly harsh on me when Chevron bought the fifth Xerox high speed copier in commercial production and I was chosen to operate it. At that time, this was a new technology, No one was really sure what this new thing would do. My stress level went way up. I would break out in rashes, because of the stress, Long ago, a former employer, David Lupinski, told me the story of a man who carried around a heavy rock. People asked him why. He answered, "Because it feels so good when I put it down." So it became with me and stress. It felt so good when the stress was over. The Xerox copier was improved and I now needed new adventures. I didn't know it, but I had become addicted to stress. Many more high stress opportunities came my way. As my body adjusted, the rashes went away.  As I turned toward my attention, and risky behavior toward charity endeavors, my shadows again came to visit me, reminding me of the jobs that were lost and the changes all around do to my need for stress. In the confusion, which we have created appeared a new door. Another tale for another edition.)

Let's see; A tale of shadows, Halloween is approaching,
what tune can I pull out of the hat: Camille Saint-SaĆ«ns "Danza Macabra"

Halloween is approaching, time to decorate the house

Halloween's origins come from a Celtic festival for the dead called "Samhain." Celts believed the ghosts of the dead roamed Earth on this holiday, so people would dress in costumes and leave "treats" out on their front doors to appease the roaming spirits. Speaking of Halloween and tradition, Edwards Landing Lights is back. Located in Leesburg, Virginia, Edwards Landing Lights has made a name for itself by putting on a Halloween light show that no one has matched (yet). Over 8,500 lights and over 2,500 channels of computer animation bring "Downtown" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Added this year, the music no longer blares from the house. Edwards Landing Lights has made arrangements to broadcast the music over FM radio, which the neighbors appreciate.
Edwards Landing Lights wants ti wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween. "Halloween Light Show 2015 - Downtown by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis"

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our
standing in our own sunshine.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
