Dancing Through The Night to Toddleogrophy

Dancing Through The Night (Martin verse)

We were the couple dancing through the night
We were the dreams which others hid from sight
We were the challenge which set hearts to flight
We were the glimpse of others hidden light
-
What years of shadows long had hid away
What fears and doubt would not permit to stray
What tears and silence slowly caused decay
What smears away their will no one would say
-
Yet there they were these urchins of their night
To unknown reasons locked and could not stray
And all around where signs of death’s decay
As they all huddled near the last of light
-
Then we appeared to take them far away
Disgruntled judges greet us at each sight
They hoped to hasten our uncalled-for flight
But when things changed what then was left to say
-
They were reborn as children with our light
They were now free to set their dreams in flight
They were aware we vanished from their sight
They were the couples dancing through the night

If you are interested in more information  about Martin verse. go here - Martin Verse – A Poetic Form. For now, let me talk about of Word Wizardry dancing in this verse. Notice how the first, second and last stanzas all have a repetition of the first word. These words unite their respective stanzas. Then comes the conflict (the third and forth stanzas). In short, the words show a verse united. A conflict disrupts the order. Then order is restored. Words help to illustrate what's going on in the poem.

When Arlene and I were put in charge of parties at our Masonic Lodge it was a dying "old boys' club". We decided to throw a dance as our first event, to ring back a bit of life to things. We got a live band and a scenic venue for the event. It was a disaster. Oh sure, they liked the food, the scenery and the music. But most of our guests were old, in their body and their mind, and it was a long time from their last dance. There was a flurry of negatives associate with this event. Unfortunately, our second event was already in the works. It was another dance. We decide to add a singer who was also a dance instructor to the venue. As one would expect the attendance at our second dance was poor. The singer/dance instructor was magic. She managed to rejuvenate memories, something forgotten, a youth reclaimed. She had almost everyone on the dance floor. Everyone who attended that dance became our best and most vocal advertisement. What was more wondrous was: the guest who attended that second dance became the lights to guide others back. And those others became lights. And so on and so on.
This true story was about Arlene's and my dances. But the message can be applied to other things, Enjoy.

Nee a little exorcise - Try toddleogrophy

Remember Anti-Gravity Yoga? Anti-Gravity Yoga combines the traditional yoga poses, pilates and dance with the use of a hammock, suspended from ceiling. James Corden, host of The Late Late Show", has discovered a brand new form of exorcise. It is called, for want of a better name, toddleogrophy. With the help of some of the world's finest instructors of toddleogrophy, James is going to introduce Jenna Dewan Tatum to this new road to fitness.
Moms, you might be familiar with this fitness form. "Toddlerogrophy w/ Jenna Dewan Tatum"
