Night Becomes Her to Prebeardy
A lover dreams how much better his delight might be at night
Two guys dream how much better they would look with a beard

Night Becomes Her (Shakespearean sonnet)

I could be happy with you all my days
But night’s delights and mingling midst the stars
The mystery of evening has its ways
To license longings banned by day’s bazaars
-
Intoxicating strolls by moon laced lake
Attracting kisses to adventurous thought
These whispers from an ocean we will take
In loft to lay before by daylight caught
-
Yet I will not be robbed a single kiss
The day displays a beauty of its own
A fool alone would miss the morning’s bliss
The sun shows hidden spots to make one moan
-
To end each day soft kiss of night returns
To quench my waiting passion that now burns

A lover intoxicated by the night fills this Shakespearean sonnet. Each stanza has its own place in this sonnet. The first stanza is an outline of the sonnet.  The second stanza covers the mood of the night. The thoughts of the day return in the third stanza. All this talk of love explains the madness of the rhyming couplet.

Did I enjoy Arlene better at night or during the day? I can't honestly tell. Lookout Point was better when Arlene was draped in the starlight. Lake Chabot was better as the sun reflecting off the waves made a glorious backdrop for Arlene's laughter. So it was with most things. I loved dancing in the moonlight. I also loved watching leaves dancing with our imaginations at a picnic. The night added a shade of mystery.  The day displayed the luster of lavish beauty. Arlene and I strolled in the nighttime. We strolled in the day,  We strolled through the moods of our surroundings, lucky to be together. Did I enjoy Arlene better at night or during the day? What time was it?

Which do we like better, the day or the night? This is a trick question. The real question is do we know ourselves? Sounds like a silly question. The truth is a lot of people don't really know themselves. They think they do, but do they really or are they playing back something that was put in their mind? In today's world, the power of the media is unfathomable. We are constantly bombarded by a very sophisticated tool aimed at our thinking. Then there are friends, family, associates and other people and all their "you shoulds". You should look like this. You should act like that. you should be like this. You should look like that. et cetera. Then there is our friend, the government. We are under constant bombardment. That silly question doesn't sound so silly anymore. Who is the most important person really. Which do we like better, the day or the night? Take some time to get to know yourself. Refresh yourself and Enjoy.

What about a great video to go with that sonnet: Patrick O'Hearn "Night Becomes Her"

To shave or not to shave that is the question

It is estimated that around 55 percent of men around the world have some type of facial hair, The average beard grows 5-and-a-half inches in a year and is made up of around 30,000 whiskers. There are many reasons guy grow beards Then there are some guys who just can't grow a beard. Ryan Higa (or nigahiga) lakes a deeper look at the issue of guys and beards.
Ryan even wrote a song about it, "Prebeardy (Official Music Video)"

It was a night so beautiful that your soul seemed
hardly able to bear the prison of the body.

  1. Yep, soooooooo many telling you how to act, look etc. And when you tell them to pound sand up their arse, they get offended lol but at least if I offend them hopefully they'll keep their advice to themselves. I'll be me and that is that.

  2. Being ourselves is something that NOBODY can do any better. Shoulds are too often a whip.

  5. Which do I like better day or night? Why do I have to make a choice, I think I'd like to embrace both the sun and moon. Martin, you have a love for life and enjoy the gentle kisses that come your way.

"Yet I will not be robbed a single kiss
The day displays a beauty of its own"

These words speak of enjoying the moments of life, do not be robbed of the gifts of the day.

    You are a wise man...
