Goodbye Old Friend to Every Dog Ever
As life moves on so do some good friends
To temper sadness let's look at "Man's Best Friend"

Goodbye Old Friend (English sonnet)

Old friend I guess it’s time to say goodbye
Into each other’s moments we must go
And for those moments I will miss you so
Perhaps for someone else to share the why
-
So many of my thoughts you’d come to know
You felt the flavors of the tears I’d cry
You ushered timely dreams as your reply
For world which turned its back so long ago
-
You heard the secrets that I could not tell
Providing me a safer place to hide
And bore the pillows which would mask the strife
-
But now has come the time to say farewell
Another dream is waiting just outside
I leave you with this chapter of my life

This sonnet attempts to draw on a dream or two. It deals with generalities fishing for feelings. I have tried not limit the "friend" to a person so that a thing. a place or a time might easily fit in. I hope I was successful.

We can all relate to leaving things behind. Some things of joy. Some things of sadness. As I went through the changes that have brought me here, my path crossed that of Mario. I met Mario when I was a Pinkerton guard at Greyhound Bus headquarters here in San Francisco. Mario was a very violent individual. It didn't take much to rouse him to a fight. Yet, he took to me like it was our destiny. It was Mario who introduced me to the "garage dance club" scene that was popular in our Latin districts. Mario was a janitor when we met, but many Latin bands knew him. He was a very well known drummer. Band drummers would asks Mario to take their place to hear him play. I was young. I was out on my own. It was that brief time, I was without Arlene. I was confused. During this dark period in my life, Mario was a major source of light. Arlene came back and coincidentally Mario met the love of his life partner, Peggy. The four of us became like a second family. Mario eventually became my best man at my marriage. Mario had to go back to Guatemala, to take care of some family problems. When he came back to America, a year or so later, he found the shell of his best friend inhabited by someone else. His friend Martin and a time was gone. Imagine the wonder. A friend closed a chapter thus. And we thought this poem was about me.

I found this song to go with the sonnet. I hope you like it: Mark Cook "Goodbye Old Friend"

Are we ready for some laughs

All you dog lovers, here's something I bet you didn't know: Three dogs actually survived the sinking of the Titanic: A Newfoundland, a Pomeranian, and a Pekingese. A little closer to home, though a tad more ridiculous, is Smosh's idea of behaviors common to all dogs. They threw together a video showing what they know (or do not know) about man's best friend.
My wife saw this video and said, "I know that dog." "EVERY DOG EVER"
(Are we laughing at the video or what my wife said?)

A Special Song to Not Today
A song shared by lovers
A song written to change someone's luck

A Special Song (Shakespearean sonnet)

Come share a special song of love with me
Which sets my soul to sail where dreams do play
And teach my heart the magic of your sway
Together let us touch eternity
-
Come flow with me mid love’s enchanted tune
Which lingers softly somewhere mid your scent
And vows our cherished hopes will ne’er be spent
In destined Joy forever we’ll commune
-
And though the sea of doubt may fill the air
The thunder of the dark may char the ground
Confusion’s chorus echoes all around
Does love song hold a chance to float through there
-
Come bare your trust this melody of two
And air another verse of I love you

Just a Shakespearean love sonnet. I have come on some fire for using the word "which" in place of "that". I use "which" because, I feel, it has a softer sound. Once more, I started with two compelling quatrains, followed by a conflict and resolved in the rhyming couplet.

Love can be fun. And, from my experience, it is women that make it so. Put aside the kissing and hugging (and the sex). Give a woman a gift and oh my! Put a little thought into it and oh my my! Everyone likes to feel special. but make a woman feel special and oh... You are not only the king of her heart, but the admiration of all her friends. Even if she doesn't brag about you, other females seem to recognize the special glow put on her by someone special. Let me share an example. When I got engaged to Amor, I took her to lunch and invited all her friends.I presented her with her engagement ring. She was very disappointed. Instead of a diamond, I gave her a big ruby. I told hr it was my heart. When she saw what effect my words had on her friends and how impressed they were with her ring, that was the best engagement ring any bride to be would ever receive. Doubt that? Well, take it up with Amor. Just one verse of a love song.

All you lovers out there, did you know, according to the National Fire Protection Association, candles are the 8th leading causes of home fires in America? They account for 25 home fires a day. It was't candles that were responsible for burning Michelle Dobyne's home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Initial inspector reports point to an electrical issue.  Michelle is a mother of 3. What is she to do now? Songify This saw the news video of Michelle as it hit YouTube. They decided to help by making a funny song out of the news interview and post it on YouTube and iTunes. All revenue will go to Michelle and her kids.
Just by watching this video you too are helping Michelle. "Not Today (The Building Is on Fire) ft. Michelle Dobyne - Songify This"

Evening Turns To Night to Mashed Potatopology
What could have happened to turn a lover's evening into night
Chef Gregg shows us how to say I'm sorry with potatoes

Evening Turns To Night (English sonnet)

My tears are turning evening into night
Was this the whiff of darkness that I chose
The windows of my promises all close
As silence adds a sharpness to my blight
-
Each second now an endlessness impose
As memories consume the hope of light
While routes to nowhere vicious blame incite
And in each heartbeat pain and anguish flows
-
Within these walls the bitter storm repeats
As sorrow all of what was real confound
And madness that will end all this now stirs
-
Sweat kindness brings back sound within the streets
As people laugh their footsteps on the ground
Yet only footsteps that I want is her’s

I have fashioned this sonnet without too much emphases on words. I was targeting feelings instead. Passage after passage the feeling grows darker. And just we think we see a spark of hope, in the last triplet, brief as it is, we are dumped deeper into our gutter.

Funny how the male brain in love works. At one moment, we are so confident. Then something happens. An argument. A word. If we're lucky,we may have a clue. I don't know what it is about the evening, but it is then when "whatever it is"show its ugly teeth. Alone and alone our minds become the playground of darkness. She/s gone. She's gone. Every silence a reminder. Every heartbeat a memory. The same imagination that used to fire up a couple, now turns to bleakness. And so he suffers by his own hands. Funny how the male brain in love works.

Let's see if we can make something of this: Engma "Sadness"

Boy do we need a laugh

Potatoes are taking over the world. It is believed 4,000 years ago the potatoes could only be found in the Andean Mountains of South America.  Now they can be found growing almost everywhere. Now, chef Gregg has uncovered a new amazing fact about potatoes. More specifically, mashed potatoes. In this episode of "You Suck At Cooking", Gregg shares his new found secret with us.
I don't know about you, but right or wrong, I love mashed potatoes. "Mashed Potatopology - You Suck at Cooking (episode 30)"

When the sun has set,
no candle can replace it.
George R.R. Martin

A World Asunder to Mental Ward Mix-Up
What madness had set a world asunder
What madness had caused this mix-up at a mental ward

A World Asunder (poem)

A heart alone to wonder
What spell had it been under
To bear the pains of blunder
And lose so much to plunder
To set a world asunder
-
The season was set singing
Through lovers' hearts were ringing
To bear the pains of blunder
Was someone else’s stinging
With so much promise bringing
-
A heart alone to wonder
Was she what he was after
To fill the days with laughter
And happiness hereafter
A dream in heaven’s rafter
-
Those moments blossoms flowered
What spell had it been under
This feeling so empowered
Over reason it towered
And truth would be soon devoured
-
Within a time then tender
Past purpose or surrender
A scar a heart would render
And lose so much to plunder
As love had turned offender
-
Soon tears would be an ocean
Escape there gave no notion
Shear madness was in motion
And offered up a potion
To set a world asunder

Here is a bit of word wizardry. Or should I say line wizardry? All the lines I plan to use are previewed in the first stanza. As the poem progresses. and we gain fuller insight, the initial lines are used again, and in their initial placement. As one might imagine, a  poem of this form requires a little planning.

This poem tries to point out two ideas. First we have a brevity of  a situation. Some people condense in their mind a situation. As the poem tries to illustrate, each line has a story of its own. The broader view may provide the listener fuller insight, though it does not guarantee a solution.
To unexpectedly lose someone we love, for whatever reason, is a trying experience. I can only give you my personnel experience. It was quite interesting. I have generally been a positive person. If one have been following Poetry and Viral Videos, it is clear how much I loved Arlene. Soon after she died , something strange came over me. "Why did she leave me? That so and so." Every little negative Arlene did came to the forefront. Some "negative mood" had come to life and turned my dream into all the bad things she did, totally negating a galaxy of joys. With the help of those close to Arlene and I and the memories we built, the "evil" was cast out. I still miss Arlene a lot. I still don't understand why Arlene had to die so young. 49. Yes, she did some bad things, but I am now allowed to enjoy the endless dreams that was Arlene and Martin.

We all know what song is coming: Michael Jackson "She's Out of My Life"

From one madness to another

Ever hear of a fursuiter? A fursuiter is a person who enjoys dressing up in animal costumes. At one stage this can be fun. Taken to extremes and you may have  a mental illness brought to light in 2009. This may have had to be explained to an actor who needed some money. Someone paid him to dress up like a kangaroo for a doctor's birthday. Instead of bringing the doctor a present, the actor was to serve the doctor some legal papers.
Confused yet? Great! Because the whole thing becomes maddening. "Fameless - Mental Ward Mix-Up"

It Is You to Dating A YouTuber
In one world are the thoughts of a romantic
In another world are the thought of a YouTuber

It Is You (uniting poem)

The glow of moon grants night enchanted hue
The sunset cast the day’s glare out of sight
A dream is welcomed by the subtle light
Those things imagined suddenly ignite
And treasure there to make this all so right
The whispered wish of starlight it is you
-
The night is young and waiting for our dance
It reaches for the flavor sparked by two
To add a tender mood into its trance
And open crimson curtains of romance
With all the flare which beauty can enhance
The richness which is gleaming it is you
-
Come take my hand and venture by my side
To touch the mist within our feelings’ tide
Such endless splendors spread into our view
The golden steps to heaven wait our stride
With one fulfillment nothing is denied
The path to endless pleasure it is you
-
A fairy’s tale or just a fantasy
Just dare our eyes and maybe we will see
Or share this while and set our fancies free
And see what worlds a dream alive make true
Therein to find a lover’s destiny
The gift of ever after it is you
-
And when the moon and us have filled divine
When what was real and memories combine
Here for this moment let our hearts entwine
Within a kiss this dream we will enshrine
And greet the dawn with meaning set anew
The meaning of my purpose it is you

Uniting poem may not be the real name for this style of poetry. As the poem begins, notice the word "you" and the word that rhymes with it are on complete opposite sides of the stanza. As the poem progresses the word that rhymes with "you" moves one step closer to "you". Let our minds drift as to the meanings of this.

When Arlene and I first fell in love I was a teenager. (Plus a big egotist.) The whole world revolved around me.  I come from a time when women followed their man. Even when Arlene began to teach me how to dance, the lights didn't go on in this self centered mind. I wish I could tell you how it all started. From out of nowhere, a strange new beautiful flower began to bloom. I started to listen and grow closer to Arlene. "But you were in love", come the shouts. It was more than love, though it didn't hurt the realms of romance Wink, Wink). I might be wrong, but I think it had something to do with maturity. Or perhaps it was the rewards that pressed me on. Or maybe, just maybe, it was something else. Perhaps there is more to life. As I continued on, I discovered more about Arlene. We think we removed the final curtain, just to find one more curtain. Curtain of satin. Curtains of silk. Curtain of wonder and imagination. Remember that I wrote, "Let our minds drift as to the meanings of this. " With this commentary behind us consider the myriad of possibilities.

Back to the poem: Johnny Mathis "All The Things You Are"

From magic to YouTube

The top ten turn-offs for women dating include cystic acne, raggedy nails, flatulence and belching, missing teeth, body odor, bad breath, hairy nostrils, “man boobs,” “goofy” glasses, and hair “mistakes". Yousef Saleh Erakat, of FouseyTube, may have stumbled on one more. With the help of his friend Lilly Saini Singh, of iiSUPERWOMANii, Yousef has put out a PSA (Public Service Announcement) warning persons of the Dating scene the hazards of getting involved with a YouTuber.
Then there's the money..."DATING A YOUTUBER BE LIKE..... (ft. iiSUPERWOMANii)"

Writing On The Wall to Perv in Girl's Locker Room
The writing on the wall is a clue that plays with a mind
That plays on the mind like a normal guy turned into a pervert by a prank

Writing On The Wall (round)

The writing on a distant wall
Not sure of what it meant at all
With all which life had sent my way
I put it off another day
-
I spent my dawns in mindless play
No source was found to cause dismay
Each wish was offered on a plate
Each fashioned dream I gladly ate
-
And everything I did was great
My bliss became my constant state
In tranquility I fell
A life I got to know real well
-
Into routine I somehow fell
As I would buy what life would sell
And so would pass my days and night
Another soul was lost in sight
-
I still don’t know what brought the light
That everything was not alright
And to an end became resigned
Some answer which would ease my mind
-
To writing I became entwined
The meaning I hoped now to find
Cell one-o-three I still recall
Was message left there on the wall

Another style of a round. There are many ways to build a round, as long as one connects one idea to the next and the end connects back to the beginning. I use rhymes. In this round, to help to drive the message home, I not only used the same rhyme (at the end as at the beginning), I used the same word (wall).

Before I go too far and as I have harped in many editions: People are different. For me, like it or not, when life got too comfortable, too regular, too predictable, a change was coming. In my life, I have come in contact with individuals who worked hard to a world as it was. We, as humans, are constantly reminded not to live in the past.  We, as biological entities, suffer some form of stress from change. We constantly hear, stress is bad. But all stress is not bad, otherwise roller coasters wouldn't be so popular. Then there are some who get off on stress. And consider how rapidly today's world is changing. Blend in with this concept, the need to control the growing world population, for order, for predictability, to sell products. Some of our beliefs, our hopes, our individuality, are products of greater forces, We have all heard that we are products our environment. Add to this, the rain of "things" that are fed to us. Let's just take eggs as an example. First we are told they are not good for us. ...then they are good, then they are not, then they are, are not, are. At one point they were compared to drugs. Working at an oil company, I have seen mind control in action. Believe it or not, for some this is acceptable. We are individuals. And whatever path we travel, the writing remains on the wall.

I have select this song not just for the music but for the video: Ron Grainer "The Prisoner"

Here is an example of the whole world/gym locker room changing

A study commissioned by Kettler, a manufacturer of sports equipment, found that of the 2,000 participants who took part in the study 50% of the gym goers only go the gym to check out the opposite sex. Most men will agree. the best place at a gym not to meet girls (funny as it sounds) is the women's locker room. Now imagine you're a man taking a shower at the gym. You come out and find you are in the women's locker room. To make matters worse, the gym manager is yelling at you. A reality shift! The madmen at Break were curious what would happen and how men would handle this.
When I went to the gym, I was too tired to care, but that's another story. "Perv in the Girl's Locker Room Prank! - Prank Bank"
