Lovers Like No Others to The Bachelor Unscripted
Compare lovers beyond any question
With a questionable liver (that is not a misspelling)

Lovers Like No Others (lyrical poem)

There we met
No regret
Better yet
We were lovers like no others
Just searching for a kiss
-
When our eyes
Seeing sighs
Realize
We were lovers like no others
Here lost in our abyss
-
A hello
Brings a glow
Time will show
We were lovers like no others
Who waited just for this
-
And there we were and how hearts beat
When paradise and heaven meet
To witness lips about to greet
We’ve come this far so why retreat
-
Here’s the hand
You command
Understand
We were lovers like no others
A thought we can’t dismiss
-
While we danced
Feelings glanced
What we chanced
We were lovers like no others
About to enter bliss
-
And there we were and how hearts beat
When lovers’ lips about to meet
And all our world awaits this treat
A promised kiss a dream complete
-
To ignite
Our delight
Eyes closed tight
We were lovers like no others

One more lyrical poem with a playful ending. Being a lyrical poem, I have kept the beats very tight throughout the poem. This "song" has six verses and two choruses. Wait a minute. The poem is missing a last line. Or is it? Follow what is going on in the poem. We can guess what happened next. Thus our imagination becomes the last line.

Allow me take this poem and the video we are about to see and say, I'm sorry ladies. I have this friend. He is a fun person to hang out with. I met him after Arlene died. I was his mentor. When I started courting Amor, some of her friends thought he was cute. One pressured Amor into a double date. I talked to my friend and he agreed. I showed my friend a picture of Amor's friend and he really agreed. At the dinner, I was flabbergasted. The person who I enjoyed hanging with, was completely uncouth, when it came to ladies and manners. The entire dinner and the dance, which we went to, was embarrassing and uncomfortable. It was easy to see why this guy was single and had trouble meeting a woman. I shared the incidence with two of my female friends, who filled my ears with their own horror tales. (These female friends helped me totally win over Amor.) It seems that some of us guys need manner and etiquette lessons. As a mentor, I brought the opportunities for improvement to my friend's attention. I see his pictures on Facebook every now and again. He seems to be hanging with the same women. Oh well. At least ladies will put up with him now.
For those that meet "my friend", there is hope out there. For those in a happy relationship, remember "my friend" and enjoy.

Like I said, I'm sorry ladies - but this is funny

The Riddle Of Love to Blind Man Prank
Most of us are blind to love's riddle
But this blind man sees clearly how to make people laugh

The Riddle Of Love (free form poem)

I might ignite the way of a lover
Blind you with flowers
Delight your ears with words
But to me
Let’s just see
-
I might dine you on dreams of delight
Exciting your appetite with wonders so new
Make special moments
A crown upon your head
Yet for me
Let’s just see
-
I might find flows to carry you away
Flying so high you dare not welcome sleep
For here you are the dream of dreams
All at your command
All is letting go
Still there’s me
Let’s just see
-
The world which you once thought you knew
Now stands around wishing it’s you
Each page is a story of you
The sun spreads the mornings for you
As heartbeats repeating it’s you
And all mirrors now reflect you
-
I might cast this dance into forever
The whispers of stardust to the flowers
Of the endless moments held in time
Which memories ever repeating
Of lovers who found Joy
Within each other’s eyes
Was it me
Let’s just see

An Interesting "free form" poem. Sure many of the stanzas end in a rhyme and one stanza ends almost entirely with the word "you". The overall effect is a poem that seems to rhyme. Not to mention, what is going on in this poem. So we have one aspect playing against or with another.

Toying with possibilities, with expressions of a moment. We have endless avenues of expressing our love, of flavoring those magic moments. I believe, love is an endless mystery, an endless realm of or for imagination. Try to define it. Try to express it. Two people meet. There is something more. Books, stories and people tell us what to do. Yet, we feel we know there is something more. We do our best to express ourselves, to make our feelings known, to grant them meaning. Try as we might there exists this inkling, we have somehow fallen short. Many of us have a fixation calling, a thought that permeates, takes over all else: You, you, you. Many of us learn to control it, so that shouts become whispers. For some, those whispers add a level of complexity. I believe that the source, the gem of our affection feels through love's complexity, as do we, and two hearts beat as one. There are those who believe, who teach: Love is the simplest thing of all. Simple or complex, enjoy.

While we try to make sense of it all, here's: Dispecer10 (mix) "Stay With Me"

Guess who is on the loose again

The Cat to This is Your Brain on Drugs
A strange tale about a cat
A strange tale about... Well it's a strange tale

The Cat (story poem)

Somewhere buried near the terrace
He is lurking there for me
Darkened eyes of night
Emitting pail moon light
It was the cat
Imagine that
-
Hence I harkened to the menace
As he beckoned “Come pray see”
He brushed by near the floor
Then slammed and locked the door
It was the cat
Imagine that
-
With disgust I climbed a lattice
To a window near its tree
What face awaited there
Demonic was his glare
It was the cat
Imagine that
-
Through the window into my place
Hapless thought, I now stood free
For there atop my stairs
To end my life’s affairs
It was the…

A story poem that is meant to be fun, yet somewhat eerie. The first two lines of each stanza are related to the other first two lines. The first lines uses "loose rhymes" (Words that sound similar, but do not necessarily rhyme). The poem stops unexpectedly: 1) To let the reader's imagination finish the poem. 2) The speaker was unable to finish his thought. 3) To have fun.

Who doesn't like surprises? Sure, different individuals have different thresholds and there may be instances when surprises are not welcome. But, who doesn't like surprises? I hope that we all do, to some extent. Life is full of surprises.
Let me share one of the wildest surprises, stunts, I pulled on Arlene. It was her birthday and I told her that I had tickets for a musical. What she didn't know was, the musical was in New York, (I live in San Francisco.) A friend of mine had a travel deal that no one, in their right mind, could pass up. Arlene and I got dressed up, as normal. I told her, we were eating at a great new restaurant that I found near the airport. Arlene, normally very sharp (or playing with me) didn't catch on that something was amiss until we drove into the airport approach. It was then I told her to check out our tickets. They were for the musical "Cats", playing on Broadway, New York.
If we aren't laughing yet... When on the plane, Arlene became concerned with how expensive her gift might be. I told her the unbelievable deal our friend had gotten us. This became a constant subject of conversation until we got back and Arlene could talk with our friend. It was an unbelievable deal. And... I suspect Arlene got wind of my surprise (though I can't prove it) and successfully covered up her knowledge of her birthday gift. What did life teach us? Enjoy.

A song to go with the poem: Macabre "The Cat Came Back"

People tell us that drugs are bad - But listen to this tale

Nutmeg is a common spice found in most kitchens. But did you know, according to the New York Times, taken in large doses, nutmeg is a hallucinogenic drug, with negative effects. The team at Above Average Network has found something else loose in some kitchens that some wouldn't suspect. There is one major problem with Above Average,s findings.
Watch Above Average's video and if we're lucky and if we do not laugh too much. we just might see the hazard or hazards or the nutmeg laying around. "'This is Your Brain on Drugs' Commercial – Extended Cut"

Our Lovers’ Brew to 9 month Bump to Buddy
Follow lovers' unbelievable stroll through life
Follow lovers' 9 month wait for a new addition to their love

Our Lovers’ Brew (poem)

In all that life has put me through
There at my side was always you
To put up with that something new
Or offer second point of view
-
We really danced by candle light
When things they were a little tight
Familiar faces hid from sight
Thus thrust us to our own delight
-
I closed my eyes and held you through the night
And listened to your gentle little coo
As we slipped into our lovers’ brew
We knew that everything would turn out right
-
We grew as did our family
Our plans were laid more carefully
So family we might freely spree
Together for the world to see
-
I close my eyes beside you near our tree
And listened to our children’s playful plight
Remembering each treasured drop of dew
As we slipped into our lovers’ brew
To greet each morning in world so bright
My love and partner lying next to me
-
Then came that time kids went their way
So we thought at greatness play
We placed our talents on a tray
And jumped into the thirsty fray
-
I close my eyes a dream each precious day
And listen to you laugh so happily
Remembering the visions you excite
In hearts of lesser lovers who would stew
As we slipped into our lovers’ brew
Each kiss we shared will make the moon ignite
There never were two lovers such as we
Reality itself now lights our sway
-
To our dismay our grand display
Too like Capri for jealousy
So out of sight with utter spite
It changed the hue of lovers’ brew
-
The nights of sway
For lovers we
To kiss good night
The treasured dew
-
Maybe might view
New brew

It is hard to define this poem. I suppose it can be set to music. The beats are pretty consistent, except for the last two stanzas (codas). One will notice that the chorus ("I close my eyes...") keeps growing. This is because as the poem goes on, the choruses incorporate all the rhymes of the proceeding verses. Notice that the last two four line verses contain all for rhymes. Keep in mind this is a poem about a couple's life. All the parts become part of a bigger picture. As the couple deals with their twilight, memories remain. Memories and hope.

This poem, pretty much is a highlight of this coupe's, Arlene and Martin, life. One of the great advantage of living and experiencing a grand life is one has the confidence of listening to and enjoying the life stories of others. Arlene and I were fortunate to listen to and share in other lovers grand experiences. Generally the poem speaks of the journey of many couples who had a family, like ours. Oh sure, it is not exactly alike. But the concept of the poem points to the magic that we call life. So different. So alike.
As the poem draws to an end, the couple must, all of the sudden deal with their "sunset". This is where the poem becomes fun. The couple face a conflict. Did they lose everything or is their "a return", something more?  And as the poem comes to an end (two syllables) does hope appear? And we. As we drink our brew. what is live sawing? Enjoy.

And for our listen enjoyment: Carpenters "For All We Know"

Pregnancies! - Could we exchange stories

The record for the longest human pregnancy goes to Mrs. Beulah Hunter. She was pregnant for 375 days before she gave birth ti her daughter, Penny Diana. Let me remind everyone, there are 365 days to a year. Meet actress Giovanna Falcone. She had a somewhat normal pregnancy. Normal except her husband, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and children's author, Tom Fletcher (of the English pop rock band McFly) wanted to make a production of the entire pregnancy.
So here, for all antiquity is Giovanna, Tom and their son Buzz waiting for Buddy. "Bump to Buddy"

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count.
It's the life in your years.
Abraham Lincoln

Midnight Star to Master Chief Doesn't Want to Die
Enter a strange world where there may be no escape
Another strange world where laughter may be the only escape

Midnight Star (loose poem)

A blossom floating with a midnight star
A dream perhaps the moonlight didn’t say
But in this moment nothing seemed to care
As world so real and fantasy collide
-
This dance in daze no thoughts of thorns could mar
Those times ago were very far away
In arms of this much was no longer there
Just drifting beauty splendor as her guide
-
A magic wind breathed music from afar
With memories of ever to convey
And silent sighs of so much more to share
As thoughts of ever held her by its side
-
And in the end no reasoning could bar
So dark became the season of dismay
Beside a deadly drugless needle’s glare
A blossom in a midnight star had died

At first glance this looks like a free form poem.  But if we take a closer look we will notice that each word rhymes with the word of the same line. Every word at the end of line one rhymes with the last word of every line one. The same is true for the last words of lines 2 3 and 4. The main reason for using this form, was to establish an unclear order.

I worked at Chevron during the 80's drug era. Though drugs were illegal, the company wasn't cracking down on any drug use, unless it adversely affected performance. It was my experience that firing among drug users was rare. In fact, except for rare examples, most individuals performance improved. Drugs were everywhere and easy to get.
Into this picture stepped Anita. Anita was an attractive, single woman in her 30s. She was a caring person who was heavily involved with charities. Was she on drugs? Yes. Everyone in her department, Accounting, knew it. She was a great worker, though, plus she would bake treats (drug free) for her coworkers. I knew Anita because she kept track of my department's finances. (Computers were not in the workplaces yet.)
For entertainment, people met at the nearest coffee station, at break time, to indulge in the latest rumors. One rumor was Anita was seeing a new guy. This could explain why she was dressing more attractively. A few weeks later, rumor was spreading that Anita was being considered for a promotion. This could explain the meetings of the "big shots", people "kissing-up" to Anita and Anita "dancing" down the hall. Then came the rumor Anita was found dead. The cause of her death depended on the coffee station. One rumor was constant. She was found on the floor with a hypodermic needle near by. Anita was an attractive woman.

To go with this theme: Talking Heads "Drugs"
(There was one less popular rumor: Anita ran off with that guy.)

Some say video games are like drugs

It is estimated that 88% of young people in the U.S. play video games, indicating that up to 3 million could be showing signs of addiction. One of the causes of these addictions is a game called Halo. Halo is a military science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise created by Bungie. The main protagonist of the game is a fellow named MCPON John-117, or "Master Chief". The folks at Corridor Digital, unable to do anything about the addition issue, have come up with some revenge of their own.
Some say laughter is additive. Let's see. "Master Chief Doesn't Want to Die"

It is in the interests of our society to promote
those things that take the edge off,
keep us busy with our fixes, and keep us
slightly numbed out and zombie like.
In this way our modern consumer society
itself functions as an addict.

The Flower Song to French Fry Rap
There was the romantic song of a flower
There was the less romantic rap of the French fry

The Flower Song (poem)

Twas summer’s glory on the day they met
As youthful kisses marked their silhouette
They kissed from morning past when starlight set
In all their richness there was one regret
The sight of flower growing by their side
-
Their days were filled with wonder and surprise
Each corner brought new Joys to spark their eyes
A fairytale their kisses would comprise
As every way new kisses would arise
And flower opened up its blossom wide
-
In time these hope filled lovers would be wed
As thoughts toward home and family led
Warm kisses sent their children to their bed
As kisses to these memories were shed
And flower’s seeds filled world with beauty’s pride
-
As life went on misfortune found their way
Amazed and dazed they met its harsh dismay
But dreams of kisses nothing could defray
With kisses’ wishes lovers chose to stay
As rainless days the strength of flower tried
-
The winds across the couple’s story passed
Such moments had their star of ever massed
A fragrance floating lifetime’s skies so vast
One teardrop brought their stories to the last
The kisses stopped the instant flower died

There are a number of things going on in this poem. Let's go over the most obvious. First here are two sets of rhymes. One is short lived and changes as the poem progresses. The other, representing the flower, remain constant and holds the poem together. While we're talking about the flower, it represents something more. Did we notice, each stanza contains kisses? Kisses not only refer to when lips touch. Kissing refers to touch in general. Not only that, kisses are the source of memories. What else is hidden in this poem? Have fun.

The flower and this poem was brought to life by Arlene, my first wife, and I. The whole affair began when a tear from Arlene touched my right arm. I fell madly in love with her. Then there was our wedding day. Few people have had a perfect day. I have. The day I married Arlene (July 27, 1974) was perfect, from beginning to end. Arlene and my love affair was story book. I wish I could tell you it was perfect. As one might expect, the same fire of passion was the source of bitter disputes. Yet somehow we weathered the storm. Those perfect lovers, that perfect love, disappeared. Yet, we stayed together. Arlene and I still loved each other, till the end, though things had changed. Something kept us together. Magic? Religious? There was something more.
Many people have gone through, experienced something similar. This is not a unique passage in the pages of life. I have focused on love, but these marvels can take on other forms. Has anything(s) ever happened to us that defies explanation? I'm  pretty sure an explanation for all the wonders of our life might be explained if everything could be traced back to the very beginning. Of course, I could be wrong. Could it be, something grander is going on? Life really can be wonderful. Enjoy.

Look what I found: Yanni "In the Mirror"

We've heard a lot of rap songs, but how about one for French fries

As we are munching down on our French fries remember this: There is still an ongoing dispute about the origin of French fries between Belgium and France which was started by the Belgian journalist Jo Gérard claims that a 1781. In 2016 Gregg, an American chef (opinion is still out on this), of You Suck At Cooking, has come out with a new rap song about French fries. As far as we know, this is the first rap song about French fries, so America will definitely get credit for its origin. Also, as far as we know, Gregg has no knowledge of the dispute between Belgium and France.
Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Norway have thrown their hats into the French fry grease. "French Fry Rap - You Suck at Cooking (episode 35)"

Our time here is magic! It's the only space
you have to realize whatever it is that is beautiful,
whatever is true, whatever is great,
whatever is potential, whatever is rare,
whatever is unique, in. It's the only space.

Hats to Dueling Hats
The different hats we wear
Guys take their hats and one-up-manship to the realms of laughter

Hats (poem)

How many hats do you wear every day
It is a wonder that you are this way
There’s the chef and the ref and your usual job
There’s the police and the priest and your hood for the mob
-
All the hats that you were every day
You are a marvel nothing less to say
There’s the maid teacher’s aid
And the doctor and nurse
The accountant attendant
And the person on first
The chauffeur the gofer
The artist rehearsed
-
Think about the hats you wear each day
How do you keep insanity at bay
You’re the plumber a drummer
A waiter the skater
The judge the lawyer and jury
Clothes maker and mender and even a bar tender
The stylist the wildest the keeper of the smile list
A hunter a punter cheerleader with a gun sir
The love the hope and the fury
-
With all the hats that you wear every day
You are a wonder and a fanciful display

Here is a weird poem. Considering the subject matter it kind of makes sense. Why don't I call it free form poem? After all, it looks like all the lines don't rhyme. Sometimes the rhymes are lines away. Sometimes the rhyme is contained in the same line. Consider the subject matter.

Who are we really? An interesting question. Oh sure, we are that person who signs the bottom line at tax time. But even as we read this, we can sense those "other us's" popping their heads out. The poem covers only some of the things a person is. In fact, the list is much, much bigger. A person, we, you and I are wonders. Sure, there are things one individual can do that other individuals cannot. And, of course, there are some things we can all do. We tend to take for granted all the wonderful things that make us us. Or maybe we are too mind boggling to take all that we are in. Or maybe we are thinking, "So what." So what! Consider this: There is only one of each of us. So what. Consider this: The stars in the universe are countless. Take away one star, would the universe be the same? Stars are born and stars die (or fade into something else). Like a star, so much depends on us. Sure, like a star, we are destined to be memories, particles in existence. We are granted our moment in time. Let us light this moment with the wonder which is us. In "the grand scheme of things" nothing is too small. Who are we really? A star. A moment. A wonder. Enjoy.

This sort of goes with the poem and it is fun:
Anita Renfroe "The Mom Song" (sung to the William Tell Overture)

We discussed the many hats we wear - Now for the competition

First record of a hat is in a painting in a cave at Lussac-les-Chateaux in Central France and it dates some 15,000 BC. Not long ago, hats were a form of status symbols in the urban environment. Everyone rushed out to buy the latest head-wear out there. If one was not in there with the latest fashion trend, they were nothing. For some  it was important to be ahead of the latest trend.
Here, we have painted for us, two "friends" vying for the number one spot in hat fashion. "Key & Peele - Dueling Hats"

All the world's a stage, and all the men
and women merely players: they have
their exits and their entrances; and one man
in his time plays many parts, his acts
being seven ages.
